symc8xx [C] ms_1
- need special case for a single driver that replaces two or more native drivers...
- Fixed, simply assign no HWIDs to one or more (ms_X) section(s)
- combined old ms_2 and ms_3 into ms_1
symc810 [C] ms_2
- see above. replaced.
sym_hi [C] ms_3
- ms_2 is also replaced

As the CPQ32FS2.* driver is WHQL, those HWIDs can be directly serviced by that driver (i need to confirm WHQL for W2k).

Win2k is funny in that it apparently replaces those updated files (sym_hi, symc810 & symc8xx) at some point with even older files that exist in DRIVER.CAB (need to confirm, again for sanity's sake).
Server2k3 is the only NT5 OS that only includes symc810.sys in DRIVER.CAB, not all three files.
Driver.cab isn't mentioned at all in that topic you linked to above, OverFlow.

From XP-sp3 dosnet.inf (post-DriverPacks-BASE integration):
   reference:  https://support.microsoft.com/kb/814847/en-us

[ForceCopyDriverCabFiles]
viaide.sys
ql12160.sys
ultra.sys
mraid35x.sys
dac960nt.sys
dac2w2k.sys
perc2.sys
symc8xx.sys
adpu160m.sys
DPTI2O.sys

I have no [ForceCopyDriverCabFiles] section in any of my Win2k dosnet.inf files, including the UR1 integrations.
Is that one reason why i have previously noted the "7-sisters" issue?
Is that also at least one reason why none of the "replaced" drivers in XP-2k3 get similarly rolled back?

These modifications, among others, prevent the "7-sisters" issue of all those files apparently rolled-back and noted in SetupErr.log on Windows 2000 (image integrated with UR1).  Some HWIDs (those in first section) remain as original in Win2k though.  Skipping the symc8xx driver did not remove any files using the latest DPs_BASE.

I wonder what could happen to those with those HWID's listed above (1000:0002, 1000:0004, 1000:0005, 1000:0006, 1000:000D) should they run sfc.exe /scannow on Win2k with DP_MS Release, as that usage as symc8xx.sys is not WHQL, nor is the file in question signed.
Could Windows attempt to replace sym*.sys with older versions existing in Driver.Cab?

I think it possible that i have made some incorrect assumptions, perhaps even noted some things others have missed previously.  Please correct me where i err that we can finally move to RC's, and we can respectfully prove GH0st ultimately wrong about XP DriverPacks.

I see that Outbreaker did attempt to warn us about Virtual SATA mode in VB/VMW way back then too!

You haven't seen the DAAMiT Graphics drivers then!  (AMD/ATi)  Yikes!
I need to back 'er up to have enough room to get up to 80 miles an hour to promptly wrap my head around those packs, so that even the Jaws-Of-Life cannot Skip, Replace, or Disable them!   :lol

PS:  I get the following effect when switching to a renamed folder for integration.

Can't wait to give this new Driver Pack a test driver on Windows XP. big_smile
By the way do you know what the Utility stuff is in the MassStorage Utility? USB Tools in SATA Drivers O_o Eh?

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Hi
One of my Easy2Boot users has hit a problem. He has a JMicron controller and I think it is using an INF file from the \D\M\J folder.  The INF file has a section

jraid_i.inf  and jraid_f.inf

[SourceDisksFiles]
jraid.sys = 1
JMInsDrv.dll = 1

but JMInsDrv.dll is not present in the driver pack.

Also, please can you give me a link to the latest nightly so I can check that. Post #1 says what the file name is but I can't find a download link?

A link to a page where all the latest nightlies can be found would be useful..
Thanks
Steve

Hi
One of my Easy2Boot users has hit a problem. He has a JMicron controller and I think it is using an INF file from the \D\M\J folder.  The INF file has a section

jraid_i.inf  and jraid_f.inf

[SourceDisksFiles]
jraid.sys = 1
JMInsDrv.dll = 1

but JMInsDrv.dll is not present in the driver pack.

Also, please can you give me a link to the latest nightly so I can check that. Post #1 says what the file name is but I can't find a download link?

A link to a page where all the latest nightlies can be found would be useful..
Thanks
Steve

i cannot find the file requested inside

this file belongs to the masstorage utils pack and not to this pack it`s a raid driver/configuration tool for windows and not a   textmode driver thats why you dont find it in here.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

@]knoks - Impovements for PE are upcoming for LAN & WLAN.

{(edit=>)} Use only MassStorage for testing PE builds.
There are 64bit drivers in LAN & probably WLAN too.  sad
MS is the only pack you should test PE on that HW for now.
Alternate to all configurations listed below, concerning HDD & CD/DVD combinations during PE testing & note results.

Make a PE disc primarily, but also use WinSetupFromUSB 1.0 beta8.7z from http://www.winsetupfromusb.com/downloads/ or SteveSi's Easy2Boot http://www.easy2boot.com/download/

(@SteveSi - some info about updating DPMS there on the Download page might be helpful to people, thank you.
http://www.easy2boot.com/make-an-easy2b … test-dpms/
  that takes me to --> http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 22&p=6
oh!  I see what you mean.  Merci beaucoup!
{edit:} Updated.

Some additional details about the bluescreen might be of assistance, s'il vous plait.

Use whatever NT5 packs you like if you build an install disc.
Please test an integration of XP to a setup disc, build an image with your holograph disc or whatever licensed untouched source and at least the latest DP_MassStorage pack and DPs_BASE (available from:  http://driverpacks.net/applications/latest)
Make ready a spare hdd, if you agree & Attempt 2 XP installs.
One on either controller chip (likely blue vs. grey?)
Use different color connectors for the HDD & CD/DVD
If neither install succeeds, please try with HDD & CD/DVD on same controller (color).
Whatever works, upon achieving the Desktop,
     Search "All Files" for "setup*.log, dp*.log" and archive copies for yourself.{(<==)}

Please start a new topic for your issue with 8086:1D02:CC_0106.
It works if the CD/DVD is on the AsMedia controller, with the 8086:1d02 controller disabled, no?
I thank you for your patience, by the way.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@SteveSi - The JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.65_WHQL package is available via Jmicron's FTP.

It seems one might be able to rename the ..\R1.17.65.11\Application\xInsDrv.dll to JMInsDrv.dll.
It has similar structure from the original JMInsDrv.dll file (via silurian software's exe utility) i found earlier in Jmicron_XP64_MCE_XP_2K(R1.12.01).zip i found on another site (in folder )/Jmicron_XP64_MCE_XP_2K(R1.12.01)/Application).  In addition, the xInsDrv.dll file is digitally signed.  That is what will be in the next posted MassStorage update, unless you object.

If requested, the JMInsDrv.dll file could be copied during install via an .Ini exception, to support later uninstall.  Maybe it is there as a limit to accidental removals of the controller driver?  If so, i should archive that renamed file, should i not?

The jraid.sys driver included in the MS pack is from ..\R1.17.65.11\\Driver\x32.
If necessary, i can add the .sys file from the Floppy32 folder for textmode-only (& therefore PE too).

Thanks for your patience too, by the way.  8086:2829 (& qemu's 2922) should be working now, thanks to Outbreaker for confirming that.  It seems he was reminding this community about that issue with Virtual SATA mode for literally years (going back to 2008, iirc) too!

Fixing Virtual SATA mode support means that affected hardware installs use a lesser driver, and consequently no longer support 4k advanced disk drives &/or 2TB+ drives for textmode.  One might need a "F6" floppy there.

The needs of the many seem to grossly outweigh those of the few, imho.  Welcome aboard Captain.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BlackWingCat's  AMD sb6xx/7xx/8xx support for his Modified Kernel should be complete in the next posted pack, for what little i am allowed to include (no modded .sys files).

Is there anybody out there interested in testing Windows 2000 Single-core (non-HT) installations with his Extended Kernel integrated via his updated HFSLIP files for your language?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Outbreaker - Those are monitor utilities for USB 3.0, for NEC, Renesas, & AMD USB 3.0 controllers.

I finally get a chance to review one of them now.  Am assuming it is informational, and information not actively distributed.  If i'm wrong, now would be a good time to correct me, s'il vous plait.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Symbios24 - Thanks for posting that link  That was genuinely helpful.  We need more of that here.

My inner Magnum PI "little voice" tells me that it might be an idea to start a new topic with the next (soon as tested on AMD sb6xx/8xx AHCI&/orRaid) uploaded [nightly] here (et al).

re. JMB36X 32-bit dll missing from J folder.
The user added the DLL to the J Folder and did a complete install using E2B and reported no problems now.
I sent him the \R1.17.65.11\Application\xInsDrv.dll  renamed file:

Great!  Now i don't have to post the link to that legacy driver.

That has to be the fastest verification i've ever seen, btw!

Thanks again for letting us know about the Virtual SATA Mode issue via 8086:2829 & the issue finding latest MassStorage [Nightlies].  I appreciate your input.

What more can be done for the NT5 branch, other than weed out some outdated & otherwise updated elsewhere WiFi/LAN drivers, modify .Inf's to fix 2k/xp+ USB-RNDIS support, & update the ATi/AMD Graphics drivers?
edit:I forgot about the new DP_Virtual_wnt5_x86-32 pack.  It's available now to the testing team.  It's close to being ready, if i have that right.  You might like.  Am still hopeful you have an idea or two for improvement (& RC's) though.

@knocks -

"To prevent customers from encountering this issue, Lenovo limits C30/D30 systems shipping with XP-32 to configurations with 24 or less threads. However, if a customer chooses to add/modify a configuration after purchase, or converts an existing system to the XP-32 OS, he/she must perform one of the following actions to avoid experiencing the instability issues:
   a) Ensure that the Intel CPU SKUs which are installed have 6 or fewer CPU cores.
   b) Install only 1 CPU.
   c) Disable HyperThreading in the System Setup."

In DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1412115.7z - file lsinodrv.inf is missing from the D\M\L folder but is referenced in the txtsetup(lsi-sas).oem file. There is however a
lsi_sas-lsinodrv.inf file present which is not referenced in any other file???
I installed using a SAS VBox VM and the install did actually work, but E2B and Setup textmode file copy complained that the lsinodrv.inf file was missing.

Worked OK if I renamed the file.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Hello

I'm using the latest nightly, and my JMB363 isn't being detected.  In Windows it shows up as VEN_197B DEV_2363.

This is in a BartPE integrated disc.  The drive is attached to the eSATA port and the chip is set to AHCI in the BIOS.

Any ideas?

Hello,

you have added Fernandos "Universal Intel RST textmode driver mod" within the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.
It seams there is a new version of Fernandos mod: v11.2.0.1006. This version support the hardware ID's:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C882CC_0106

and

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C883CC_0106

for the Intel 9 Series Cipset

Please can someone add this and possibly other hardware ID's from Fernandos mod to the DriverPack.

I have a Problem with the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1412115.7z Driver Pack. I use this Driver Pack within my BartPE but i can not see a HD which is connected to a JMicron SATA port. The official DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z work to me. Your Driver Pack use the Version 1.17.65.11 of the jrayd.sys while the last official Driver Pack use the version 1.17.63.1. Are you sure that the version 1.17.65.11 of the jraid.sys is working with XP?

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Using DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1412115.7z with the optical drive connected to the JMB368 controller, I am getting a 0x0000007B when trying to boot BartPE...

I know this BSOD has always been an issue with JMicron.  Can it be fixed?

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I recommend to use the official driver from DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z if they exist and add only drivers which are not part of DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z to the unofficial driver pack.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

The internet says that the JMicron 1.17.65.11 driver is also for Windwos XP.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

This say that the Version 1.17.65.11 is for Window-8: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/i … oller.html.
Has anyone the JMicron port get to work under XP?
I strongly recommend to use the official driver from DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z if they exist. Don't touch a running system.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

No where in the JMicron Release History they say that they removed any Windows support.
And i get more BSOD with the old DP_MassStorage than with the newer one.
You said you have a PC with a JMicron chip why do you not try and install the newest driver version. And if that doesn't work then test what the latest driver version is that works on Windows XP, only then we can fix the problem.
