Any ETA on the new MassStorage pack? smile

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Wednesday is the latest ETA for a tested pack including a fix for the "7 sisters" win2k setuperr.log fix.  (I call it that despite the fact that only six errors persist on install because in addition to the six errors, mraid35x.sys is similarly affected though "disabled".)

An update to Acheron's "3 amigos" fix is that now three errors are located in the System section in Event Viewer.  Those complain of the sudden removal of the mvmmxx libraries, so an entry in the "Known Issues" will need be added to the changelog.
At least all entries are completely gone now (except in BartPE/UBCD4Win by design).

The 3rd-party MassStorage packs are now depricated as they have been unified in this pack.
2k bug AKA "7 sisters" - satisfied.

Hello there is a driver bug with ati.achix86 (DriverVer=06/08/2012, 3.3.1540.33) it founds the controller with a strange name and after the windows has copied files and restart it throws a blue screen.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Hello again.

Here is one thing you might try.

Extract the contents of DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.7z to  the folder DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1410261\

Make a new folder DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1410261\D\M\AM\8\1\ and move the contents of ..\D\M\AM\8 to ..\D\M\AM\8\1

Copy the files from the last official release DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z\D\M\AM8\ to DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1410261\D\M\AM\8\

Using 7-zip v9.20, make a new 7-zip archive called "DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1410261.7z" using the settings LZMA-256-32M, and do a test integration from a virgin source, using only DP_MS, Chipset, & LAN.

If it works, link a copy of your version, if you like.  If that doesn't work, then there is more work yet to be done.  That would be to try an integration (ensuring QSC is deselected & cleared if necessary) with DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z

The goal here is to use v3.3.1540.26 for textmode, and for the v3.3.1540.33 to install @T36.
If the driver need ultimately be rolled back, i'll simply archive the updated revision for manual installation.  Whatever works for you.   smile

No, that is not correct, but it seems to be an interesting effect  you might have uncovered there.  Many of the brightest ideas in science have come because of "happy" accidents, or serendipity.

I need for you to post your HWID's please.  There is a tool linked in our signatures.
Post to Pastebin (etc), or here (within code tags).

The usage of nLite, as nice as it is, after having used DPs_BASE on a source is known to at least potentially cause undesired results.  This has been so far unconfirmed on the latest revisions.  Who knows?  Maybe you have accidentally confirmed that too.  Waste is the inevitable unwanted byproduct of haste.  Haste makes eWaste.  Then again, if you have extra time, you might as well rush things, cause you never know exactly what you'll end up with, possibly even a cure for the common cold.  tongue  Another method would have been ...

Part of science is the describing the means with how results are obtained to ensure repeatibility for others attempting to confirm results.  If science isn't your thing, put on your "Sherlock Holmes" hat, por favor.

Do try a seperate integration from scratch with the official release v12.09.  That is key to understanding this affect for your controller.

Aloha.

unfortunately i dont have it anymore it was a friends laptop that i had to format as fast as possible

it was this model:

do you happen to know the know side-effects or some of the latest masstorage pack?

Ah, you could use either Chipset pack with the official MassStorage v12.09 release.
For Known Issues and other notes, check the changelogs & other documents included with the individual packs.

Could you contact your friend and guide him or her to the Device Manager to determine the HWID of that controller from the Details tab?

It should look like PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_xxxx&CC_0106 or 0104.  <Examples>

That information may yet prove useful.
Otherwise,  there is nothing more i can do to identify problems or solutions, let alone reproduce the issue here.
Was the Root Certificates Update included with the install media that finally worked for you?

[off-topic]  True friends don't let friends use XP for internet access, in my humble opine.

Debian 7.6 is out now, Ubuntu & co. just released 14.10 utopic.  Dual-boot systems are popular and easy to setup after Windows installation via Disk Manager.  Don't partition whole drive for Windows, use DM to create extended partitions, one about memsize called "swap", and another for the linux partition then install linux, and you get GRUB or similar for bootmenu.  Somehow it also seems Virtualization is another option whilst in linux, and also Wine, yet network access should be disabled for Windows (isolated wired net prolly OK), other than for activation.

Xp is such a downgrade from 8 unless you have a specific application or hardware forcing one to downgrade, or a specific requirement for low system latency unencumbered by a signature based antivirus, yet something behavioral based.

Was 8 really that bad?  Were there problems with an 8.0 recovery partition and 8.1 Update?  [/off-topic]

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

I`m afraid its impossible my friend its not anymore here and the only contact we have its from near,as far as i know from my own netbook acer 522(amd c60) with hardware id PCI\VEN_1102&DEV4391&CC_0106 they look the same the only different thing was the gpu 6290 mine 8210 his. the chipset was using the same driver as mine, it had win7 someone put it but they still performing very slow, dual core not quad core unfortunately.i`m using driverpacks base since 2009 trying to do the perfect windows disc that has everything so after format i dont have to put anything at all drivers or programs for my work(computer technician)
i use linux on my cubieboard to make an access point to have internet all over the house from a connection i get from the neighbor.

this is the exact spec of the chipset/cpu/gpu of my friends

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-E-Seri … 894.0.html

i found from another e1-2100 lenovo notebook in internet the hardware id:

PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7801&SUBSYS_380217AA&REV_00\3&2411E6FE&0&88

what i mean with the "do you happen to know the side-effects of the latest masstorage pack?" is if this driverpack has any known problems at all with any other masstorage drivers/chipsets?? was the ati achi the only problem? since this is my install image for formatting computers in general for my work and i don`t want to get into the same problem of another erroneous storage controller when formatting. or you hardly suggest to use the official v12.09 masstorage driverpack for my work ?? thanks

Re: [Nightlies] DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1304-1412 - Public

Sadly, those HWID's you posted don't help at all.  We need the specific HWID from a lenovo G405/G505.
Until then, this issue can only be added to the "Known Issues" list (with thanks to you for noting it).

symbios24 wrote:

How about making two discs?  One would use DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209.7z, and the other - your primary install disc) would use DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.7z in it's stead.

That way, if you do encounter hardware that doesn't work with the latest [Nightly], such as apparently the lenovo G505, you will have two discs for testing and reporting what works, so we can fix it and credit you for reporting solutions too!

Disc install is the primary installation method supported by DriverPacks, by the way.
  There are faster ways to install Windows (integrated with DriverPacks).  {see Easy2Boot & WinSetupFromUSB.}

If you do go on to use USB for installs, keep the two discs for hardware that doesn't cooperate.

Sas efcharisto.  (Thank you)  smile

thanks again
the disc with the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.7z detected correct the masstorage driver after i put it with nlite. But the chipset driverpack DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1405191 after installed a different driver in windows,do you need to repair this to install the correct driver ??

the driver amd raid controller 13/9/2013 v6.1.2.5 must be the newest driver for A4/A6 kabini motherboards and not for sb700/710/sb800 etc. motherboards.but since chipset sb700 and up the 05/28/2012, 3.3.1540.33 driver is working with all the motherboards.strange

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOTHER … 6125.shtml

i tried the erroneous disc in my netbook amd c60 with sb800 chipset and it detected the achi controller as achi886 it should be detected it as achix86 so i think the masstorage driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176 has  a little problem with ati achi motherboards detection can you fix that or can you tell me how to fix it??

is it possible the chipset driverpack DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1405191 to have any bug since it installs another achi driver??

That is no mistake.  If there are any executables in your ..\i386 folder named ahcix86.sy* (or iaStor.sy* for that matter), then that would be an error.

Symbios24 wrote:

DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1405191 does not contain AHCI drivers, so that cannot be installing any other AHCI driver.

Bear in mind that when you differ from proscribed (and repeatable) procedure, your results will be very difficult for us to debug.

So, you replaced the driver v3.3.1540.33 with the driver v3.3.1540.33 using nLite after DPs_BASE.
  What could go wrong?     hmm

At any rate, your pack of intel drivers did give me an idea.
  That is to include the ????ahci.Inf HWID's with the RST v11.2 driver, like the "Intel(R) Pentium(R) processor N- and J-series / Intel(R) Celeron(R) processor N- and J-series AHCI - 0F23" controller on Floppy's hardware.
  Ref:  http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 202#p58202

That should add upwards of a dozen HWID's for Win2k/XP/2k3, what with making room for (though not including files from) BlackWingCat's modified-core Intel MassStorage driver for Win2k.

Thank you for the serendipidous inspiration!     smile

Hello again, glad to help,i still don`t know why it installed driver amd raid controller 13/9/2013 v6.1.2.5 instead of v3.3.1540.33 or a way to fix this, yeah i added it with nlite since i don`t know any other program to add a single masstorage driver only, you think you can find the cause of this so it`installs v3.3.1540.33 as the correct driver?
the  hwid PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7801&SUBSYS_380217AA&REV_00\3&2411E6FE&0&88 that i found on internet its also from a lenovo g505

So, the driver actually works for that HWID?  That's an easy fix.     smile

Move "PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7801&CC_0106," from [AM-a-2] in DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32.ini to [AM-8] (two sections above it)  under ms_1_hwids.  If using MS' Notepad, ensure "Word-Wrap" is off before opening the file for editing, so as not to corrupt the file.
Then use 7-zip v9.20 (7-zip settings LZMA,256,32k,512M) and call it DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z.  Link it here, if you would like.

Please try to confirm the fix works.  I will thank you in the changelog.

Can you make any sense out of the disparate info i have in there concerning partitioning compatibility?
I need all the help i can get to finish this long running branch of this volunteer community project.

Nice work!

That should have read "rcraid2", yet it matters not what the driver is displayed as, as much as it matters that it doesn't bluescreen again.  Now "ahci886" should be driver name in pre-partitioning textmode.
(Noting some drivers show as "unknown" on Win2k, & i don't yet know why, though it matters not for your XP.)

Do we have confirmation yet if DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z fixes the problem, or does it bluescreen, and where does it bluescreen if so?

So the a-series achi controller was correct since it was an a-series chipset but after restart blue series tongue but also the achix86 is compatible too(and working) so the driver V6.1.2.5 was found after windows setup finished was for a-series chipset and also correct.
As far as i remember it was detecting the rcraid or rcraid2 and copy the windows files and after the restart was throwing a blue screen with a checkdisk /f and some other things in chinese  tongue
its difficult to test it since i don`t have the lenovo notebook anymore,is my amd c60 netbook With Hwid "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_0106" enough to test it,it always detect achix86 v3.3.1540.33  it`s my netbooks default sata controller.

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7001&CC_0106 & PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7004&CC_0106 are the HWID's that need verification.  As you can understand, it gets a little complicated when Chipmakers reuse the same HWID in different drivers for incompatible products.  nV was bad for that years ago.

At least we were able to use "Sherlock Holmes" methodology.  That is "deductive reasoning".
We have a good theory to test now.

Sometimes "crisis" can translate as "opportunity".    smile

i had the same issue with the Silicon 3112 ata drivers. They changed the firmware and you had to match old driver to old firmware or update firmware. All the same HWIDs. Why they would not write the driver to support both firmware (backward compatible) is beyond me
