No they are different folders

Maybe you should do some reading here :

http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp

good luck

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

ok ,i got it
but when i instal the xp from my hard disk.the oem folder is not workable! what should i do if i want it the same effect as"instal xp from cd"
please forgive to ask another question:
after i integrat the mass storage with dps_base,
which folder does the drivers exist?
i386 folder or only the oem folder?
or both?
thank you very much!

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

should i delete the oem folder?
but when i use the method 1, the $oem$ folder come into existence
what's the diffrence between mthod1 and 2?
which one is more efficent?

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

Don't delete anything

The Default Method 2 is best

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

I used method 2.  I created a folder called $OEM$ and a folder within that called $1.  I then copied the method 2 OEM into $1 and that was it.

i am confused
why you copied the method 2 OEM into $1 ?
isn't the integration work finished after there's a OEM in the root of the xpcd?
what else should i do when there's a OEM folder  in the root of the xpcd?
thank you

which version do you use?

is the woke finished when i got the OEM folder?
may i build a $OEM$ when i want to integrat my own soft

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that I was installing from a USB key.  I put the $OEM$ direction I created in the i386, so it copies the OEM directory which is inside the $OEM$\$1\ to the root on the partition I am installing the OS on to.

I never got method 2 to work the way I needed any other way.

Sorry for not being clearer.

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

The OEM directory should be at the root of your disk.  The $OEM$ directory is used for other unattended stuff.  Method 2 uses an OEM dir at the ROOT of your disk.

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

I guess I wanted to have the OEM in the $OEM$ so I didn't have to copy the OEM folder manually to the root of every computer I wanted to install WinXP onto.  Installing from a USB key is sweet stuff thanx to Driverpacks and RVM.

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

Why do you need the OEM dir at the root of your harddrive?

The driverpacks remain in the root of your disk and are extracted to the harddrive.

why does it have to extracted to the harddrive?
isn't it that it has been integrated into the i386 dir?
can it get deleted automatically when the first logon?

are extracted to the harddrive

where,i can't find them

Re: [unsolved]oem or $oem$?

Hi
if you really want them, use 7zip and unpack the driver pack files you find oem folder, and then put the D folder where you want it in $oem$.
I doubt that the packed files do any good when you put them in there...

unpacking during presetup saves space, and copying the unpacked files actually takes longer than unpacking them.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.
