Re: [SOLVED] Sigmatel control panel interrupts unattended setup @T-34

During the 39th minute? That's impossible. the DriverPacks Finisher is only executed during the first logon, i.e. AFTER setup. Additionally, this DPsFnshr.log shows that no exceptions were applied: after filtering the exceptions, it immediately skips to KTD, because no exceptions got through the filtering stage.

Are you sure this was at T-39 of setup? And did you perhaps automate the installation of the control panel yourself? Or is this not the correct DPsFnshr.log?

My mistake, not the 39th. Actually not sure what minute it was because the damn CP takes up the entire screen during GUI setup, LOL. And no, no automation of the CP, to verify I ran an install without DP sound (all else the same), and no popups. No working sound either smile

Re: [SOLVED] Sigmatel control panel interrupts unattended setup @T-34

I can verify this.  Happened to me on a Dell Latitude recently.  Except for me I just got 2 open CMD windows with nothing and then the Sigmatel was not working post setup.  I have a feeling they have made some changes to their .inf file in more recent driver versions.

Confirmed minute 34

That's during the installation of drivers the, which does indeed lead to the conclusion (you were right, RogueSpear) that it's caused by the driver itself.

If there's no new version available soon, I will roll back to the previous driver.

Re: [SOLVED] Sigmatel control panel interrupts unattended setup @T-34

I hate to say this but I had the same thing happen with an Analog Devices chip today sad

EDIT:  One difference - the sound device was properly installed and functioning once setup was done.  But again, I got the two blank cmd windows around T-34.

Re: [SOLVED] Sigmatel control panel interrupts unattended setup @T-34

Hm in the first post the problem is described as

the sigmatel control panel pops up to set headphone or speaker option for the green jack, will not continue until this is set

Fragbert confirmed that.

RogueSpear had another problem though:

2 open CMD windows

... and then another one by RogueSpear, describing the same issue, but with different drivers.

I do not see the link. And I do not see how 2 cmd windows could get started... that's very strange!

And actually, the pop up does NOT stop the rest of the install, just an annoyance. I can live with that. RS's problem sounds more troubling.

re: the two cmd windows, I think this may be due to two missing exes started by

presetup.cmd

here are the last two lines from an autoimage+driverpacks ris setup

START %WDSP%
START %CDSP%

aka WatchDSP.exe and CloseDSP.exe. I couldn't find any sign of these binaries, presumably they are not part of driverpacks anymore but autoimage still references them??

Re: [SOLVED] Sigmatel control panel interrupts unattended setup @T-34

Indeed I discovered this over the weekend.  Must not have been paying attention when WatchDSP.exe was removed from the setup.  Unfortunately with dspdsblr.exe I still get an open cmd window.  So I'll probably put WatchDSP.exe back in AutoImage's package.

Re: [SOLVED] Sigmatel control panel interrupts unattended setup @T-34

dumb question?
are scripts case sensitive?

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Not for executing an outside process.
