Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

i had this BSOD too some times when i repair computers.. but only when the onboardsound is enabled (every time realtek ac'97 or so

i cannot give you a real solution because i have non other than disable onboard sound and use a soundcard

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

But the most Notebooks have Oboard Sound (like my NB) so it isn't so easy to change the "sound machine" ...

Wenn der Fehler nicht wäre, könnte ich die DriverPacks endlich mal effektiv austesten .... sad

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

It are probably the realtek AC'97 drivers conflicting again. Removing these drivers from the driverpack sound A should solve these problems.

You can following these steps to remove them from driverpack sound A:
1. Extract the driverpack sound A with 7zip.
2. Delete the Contents of D\S\R folder, except for the D\S\R\HD folder.
3. 7Zip the D folder with maximum compression (archivename has to be the same as the name of the driverpack sound A).
4. Do a new slipstream of the driverpacks.
5. Done!

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

yes but thats no solution! when you try to reinstall the missing sounddriver on a installed system the bluescreen is back!

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

I can confirm Serebys post ... It is at me too.

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

Just tell me what motherboards those are... it's definitely some missing SoundMAX/Sigmatel drivers. When I add the necessary drivers, the BSODs will disappear.

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

i could tell you 2 mainboards maybe.. but the first one could be damaged now because its not starting only beeping (seems to be the gfx card or the port.. dont know) and the other one could be soundmax and i can send you the hw-ids if you need

Do not send me the HWIDs, I can't do anything with that, I need the brand + product name of the motherboard, nothing more, nothing less. (I need that to download the missing driver from the website.)

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

Intel 915M (It is Centrino) and I use a SoundMAX Audio driver ... My Notebook is a HP model ...

You can find the complete data sheet here (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu … p;lang=en#)

I hope, it helps you.

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

I did remove the driver from my install disks as far as I remember the drivers were only a problem when they were installed in preference to the actual correct driver. So when you actually have realtek soundcard installing that after your unattended install wouldn't cause a problem... I'm suprised this is still happening..  lo muiz btw smile

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

Hi!
My motheboard is GigaByte 81865GVMK-775. I slipstreamed DriverPacks whith KXD option enabled. Now, after I get BSOD, I cannot install native (from disk GB) sound driver - BSOD.
What h*ll I must delete now to install driver? ;-)

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

I have this issue also.  HP Notebook model nc6120.  Intel Chipset and SoundMax Audio which is being detected as Realtek '97 codec.  When I download and install driver for this audio component from HP web site, no more BSOD with portcls.sys file.  This is no big deal, but why have driverpacks if I still need to get OEM specific drivers?

The DriverPacks include as many OEM drivers as possible. The thing is that this is a never-ending issue, because there is NO SUCH THING as a "universal SoundMAX audio driver". For each (set) of devices another driver is needed. And when one of these drivers is missing, then you'll get this BSOD. The only solution is to keep on adding more of these SoundMAX driver whenever you come accross one that is'nt included yet.
Blame SoundMAX for their bad driver design...

EDIT: FYI: I've been adding these SoundMAX drivers for at least 1.5 years now and as you can see even now it's not yet complete! As a matter of fact, new ones keep coming as well!

Re: [IMPLEMENTED] SoundMAX driver

Bâshrat the Sneaky
I habe many SoundMax drivers, which absent in driverpack. It's HWIDs other too. But I don't know their download links and pages, from vendors' site. I can to give download link to my archive.
