Topic: [SOLVED, NEEDSREPLY] VIA VT8237R: BSOD before GUI-mode-setup

System Details :

Intel 531
VIA P4M800(North) with VT8237R+(South)
Seagate 7200.09 SATA2 (150 mb/s, SATA1 jumper set, Single HDD not RAID)
Windows XP SP2 with DriverPacks slipstreamed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I slipstreamed DriverPacks MassStorage Drivers into WINXP SP2

After text-mode-setup finished,
before GUI-mode-setup started,
system halt (blue screen shows) saying

"Unknown hard error :
STOP:c000021a unknown hard Error.... "

Oddly, I've tried 4 times of setup changing slipstream method (1 to 2), KTD or not
Just one time I passed GUI Setup but failed normal uses (infinitely reboot even safe mode)
anyway with same method, nextime, I failed to enter in GUI-mode-setup

Unfortunately...
I also tried manual slipstreaming VIA sata-raid controller in 2 ways

1. add drivers (viamraid.sys, extras) in $oem$ / i386 , edit txtsetup.inf - pretty normal way
2. MSFN GDragoN's method, attach only 2 sys files, edit only txtsetup.inf - u might seen in msfn forum

but neither works showing blue screen

" ......... ntdl.dll error .......... " (not clearly remember)

...

Now I have no idea to figure out this SXXT problem
I feel really sick of watching my PC shut xxxx by blue screen

Please give me a hint
PEACE!

PS. Understand my stupid english. I'm not mother tongue english

Re: [SOLVED, NEEDSREPLY] VIA VT8237R: BSOD before GUI-mode-setup

Sounds like either a corrupt image or a faulty CD/DVD. Please recreate the ISO and then burn it to a different CD/DVD. That should do the trick.

*off-topic*
Have I ever mentioned... I hate VIA SATA... But I hate the ULI chipset more....

Re: [SOLVED, NEEDSREPLY] VIA VT8237R: BSOD before GUI-mode-setup

Relief that is solved off topic but

I can't find where the answer is
Before I post this topic and right just before, I gave a searching glance about via sata (vt8237R plus) in this forum

Please link the answers or explain how 2 to T-T

Hence the 'NEEDSREPLY' in the topic title! wink It means I still need your confirmation that that was indeed the solution.

Re: [SOLVED, NEEDSREPLY] VIA VT8237R: BSOD before GUI-mode-setup

Same problem that vjuyav.

Same Chipsets, MotherBoard Abit SG-85 for AMD Athlon 64 754.CD Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 80Gb SATA2 with jumper for SATA1 (with SATA2 Mode Mb freezes in bios screen)

I tried rebuilding package, rebuilding ISO, reburning CD (in different type of CD) and nothing to do, I tried Activating it in SATA Mode and IDE Mode, and when get to enter Gui Mode, this crashes, this is the error message:

0x0000007B(0xF79D1528,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

I tried Method 2 with text drivers....

this is the errot that handle to me.... for your attention, thanks

Re: [SOLVED, NEEDSREPLY] VIA VT8237R: BSOD before GUI-mode-setup

Could you please post your DPs_BASE.ini and upload the original driver that came with that motherboard? Als you could try to integrate this specific driver using nLite.
