Thank you.

Re: [REQ] Monitors - Like, how 'bout an update, eh?

how did you manage to get 300 posts help with the packs and yet never made it on to the testing team?

Welcome to the team.

Two small factors, really.  150+ requests for updated drivers (i sincerely apologize to you, and your wife, mr_smartepants!)

@TechDud
When you plan to publish the version for testing?

Re: [REQ] Monitors - Like, how 'bout an update, eh?

I have a pair of test packs available for Vista-7, yet only 2 downloads.  XP version of DP_Displays has stalled for now.  I would be remiss if i didn't acknowledge that i now have one confirmed individual interested in DP_Displays_wnt5_x86.  Thank you.

I have not given up on the project, yet i must confess that i don't understand why some Security Catalog files can verify as WHQL when others do not.  I note that OSAttr=2:5.0;2:6.0 will sometimes validate in XP, yet not always.  I am using Nir Sofer's HashMyFiles to verify SHA1 signatures (So Handy to identify identical files or compare SHA1 sig's with .Cat file contents, or verify DP downloads!).  Until i understand this further, i do not wish to commit myself to manually searching/cross-referencing 10000+ files.  If there was freeware available to accomplish this, my enthusiasm might grow.

If your monitor/display directly supports sRGB, you don't need drivers, unless your monitor/display is not auto-detected by windows.  Registry-based EDID overrides may allow some non-3D displays to output simple 3D video and allow HDMI1.4-thru-HDMA1.3 passthru support on HDMI 1.4 non-compliant Audio/Video Surround Receivers, etc.

I also note that Acer's Gateway brand may be phased-out in favor of the 'Acer Business' moniker,  In other words, i have been mindful of the future of such packs, despite the all-but total lack of public/professional interest in this project.

Re: [REQ] Monitors - Like, how 'bout an update, eh?

Is there still no interest in the NT5 "Monitor" 3rdParty DriverPack "DP_Displays_wnt5_x86-32_1109081"?

   40MB compressed, 200MB uncompressed, 13036 files, 263 folders.
changelog/contents --> http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 838#p44838

DP_Displays_wnt5-x86-32 Notes:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- If Windows can autodetect your display over VGA with the AC cord removed from the display, then all 15 lines should have conductivity within the cable

- If you are connecting your Display over a VGA cable and Windows cannot autodetect your display, the cable may not have conductivity through pins 12 & 15

- If you are using an older KVM, the I2C communication may not properly pass through pins 12 & 15 & you may experience similar symptoms as the previous.

- If you have ruled out the previous cases and Windows still cannot autodetect your display, your display might have a bad EDID chip, or the video card
and display may use incompatible voltages; this could prove disasterous for the EDID EEPROM within the display.

- If your Display is sRGB compatible, you need no profile associated (maybe use Windows' built-in sRGB profile)

- If you are removing a display and you have removed the ghost driver from device manager, the registry entries may still remain.  Navigate to
"HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY" to manually remove the relevant keys.

- If you intend to use EDID overrides for HDMI_v1.3 passthru of 3D video (HDMI_v1.4), WHQL status is void if the .Inf is modified; use .Reg files instead.

- A copy of your display's EDID will exist (as long as Windows can autodetect) within the individual "Device Parameters".

- If the key "Control" exists alongside the "Device Parameters", your display (& cable) likely support DDC/CI
..

Re: [REQ] Monitors - Like, how 'bout an update, eh?

Hi, where are links to new DP_Displays?

Re: [REQ] Monitors - Like, how 'bout an update, eh?

The NT5 Display pack is only available in the NT5 Testing Team forum.
This pack has the potential to physically destroy some displays and very little testing feedback has been received.  I have manually checked each driver for what would seem to be wildly incorrect timings, and there have been a few.  Some were even WHQL'ed, IIRC.

"If your Display is sRGB compatible, you need no profile associated (maybe use Windows' built-in sRGB profile)"

Therefore, this pack is being held back, as the potential harm is far greater than any potential benefit.
Testers are needed to validate this and other packs.

edit:  I remember you, Us2002.
You are one of this pack's progenitors.     http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=587
I have credited you in this packs' changelogs.

If you are not already on the Testing Team, I recommend you be granted access (pending Admin approval).
If you are granted access, please post some testing results at your convenience for the current NT5 Nightlies in the NT5 Testing forum, if agreed (Aug 2013 - DP_Graphics, Chipset, MassStorage, LAN, wLAN, Sound, etc.).  I hope you can finish this pack, as my time is now severely limited.

Thank you for your past contributions, and welcome back.
I look forward to your feedback.     smile

What are your thoughts on this topic?
