Topic: [CLSD] Is there any new graphic packs coming out ?

Hi
I wanted to know if there's any new graphic packs for winxp in testing versions right now ?
Because it's been a long time since the last version was released and lots of new cards have come to the markets since then.
Besides the latest version has caused some BSOD errors for me on different ati cards.
the error is about "ati2dvag" getting stuck in an infinite loop.
I'm sure it's not a virus, besides it appeared on different computers with different cards.

The "ati2dvag" is obviously an ATI error and can be fixed by visiting the ATI web site and downloading the latest version 11.2 (choose 5xxx series)
I saved a copy of all the versions to a flash drive to have them available when needed (XP, W7, 32 & 64 bit).

Remove the existing ATI programs and drivers first and reboot, then install the new drivers.

This has fixed all the BSOD's on the PC's I have worked on.

What do you mean by choosing the 5xxx series ? shouldn't I choose the right version related to my own graphic card ?
I have tested that and worked in most cases except for the times that i couldn't remove the old drivers completely.
but is it gonna happen in the next versions of graphic packs too ? (considering i didn't have this issue with the 9.12 version in any case)

mr_smartepants can you determine a proximate date ?
and Is it possible to pm me a link to the beta version ?

thanks both of you.

Re: [CLSD] Is there any new graphic packs coming out ?

If you have a PC's with modern (later) cards then the 5xxx range covers older to the latest cards,
it is a universal driver set, I just like to choose that series.

If you have an x1200 or X1300 then ATI recommends 10.2 which will BSOD.

In Device Manager right click the video device and choose UNINSTALL.

mr_smartepants always adds the latest possible driver and cannot test for BSOD's that may occur later.

No, it'll be done when it's done.
No, only members of the testing team get access to the test builds.

You need to be reminded that we all have other responsibilities.
I have a REAL job that pays the bills.  I work 9-10 hours a day.  I come home and spend precious time with my daughters.
Once they go to bed, I have MAYBE two hours to spend alone-time with my wife AND work on DriverPacks.
I'm sorry, but my personal life will ALWAYS take priority over DriverPacks.

I have new Win7 DriverPacks in work.  I am spending less and less time on the XP DriverPacks.

Re: [CLSD] Is there any new graphic packs coming out ?

you're right, I'm sorry.
But can you at least guide me on this one ?

I'm going to update all graphic packs related to ati cards. I'm guessing it's not ok if I just download the latest versions related to every series and replace them with the old ones and repack them, is it ? so is there any tutorial or a simple guide about that ? or can you at least give me a hint about where to start to understand the basics of editing graphic packs ?

I appreciate your patience with me but I'm really curious about it and I'm also a fast learner.   wink
thanks in advance
