Today I have installed the same uwxpcd with the same DriverPacks (base and drivers) except for DP CPU (6.08 used instead 6.09).

amdk8.sys is NOT from WinXP 32 bit (in 6.09)
It is from Win98 or Win 64 or Win 2000
You can load http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content … usetup.exe and compare amdk8.sys

I wrote that, then realised I would not be able to.

the way I figured is this
I had already tested CPU 6.09 with "away" removed and that still got the error.
We tested CPU 6.08 what don't have "away". no error.

In the freak CPU 6.09 I did not delete "away", and I replaced the other files with those from 6.08.

But, I could not test it.
( it does expand to d\cpu ... )

The answer was 42?

i tested it. files from 6.08 + away = everything ok. tested on athlon x2 3800 & sempron 3400.

It is from Win98 or Win 64 or Win 2000

Same issue. dual core is also unknown cpu..... until i put the correct drivers in "3rd party" folder.

I've reverted back to old CPU 6.08 and everyting's fine smile.
Trash DP CPU 6.09 and use 6.08 if you don't need the away driver ... otherwise make your own DP CPU with away driver (from DP 6.09) and amdk8 driver (from DP 6.08).

No, only point your "unknown device" in device manager to uncompressed driver & reboot.
