Topic: [BUG/REQ][8.12.5][slipstreamer] Renaming problem with Double "." chars

Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to the forum, but first I would like to thank everyone involved in developing and testing this great tools. Magnificent job so far smile

I'm writing this to report a small problem (that I have already fixed "manually").

I have encountered the following problem with DPs_BASE_8.12.5 and Driver Pack DP_Graphics_B_wnt5_x86-32_1004 :

Some of the files aren't correctly renamed after being cabbed, it happened within driver "I1" affecting the following files:

they are all cabbed correctly but wrongly renamed to

Instead of ending with ".resource_" and ".confi_" extensions.

We know what happens to the driver when is loaded (file missing), to sum all up the file named "GfxUI.exe.config" that ends up with the following name

"GfxUI.exe", replaces the good one "GfxUI.ex_" ending up corrupted.

I have already track-down all files with double "." in their files names and manually added the correct extensions, but the problem with "DPs_BASE_8.12.5"

renaming code remains.



Strangely it didn't happen on the following drivers pack:
Drivers DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_1004

Folder - N1
File - hdaudio_1.0.9.1_xp_vista_win7.exe
was correctly named : hdaudio_1.0.9.1_xp_vista_win7.ex_

Folder - NM
File - hdaudio_1.0.9.1_nforce_8.34_xp_vista_win7.exe
was correctly named : hdaudio_1.0.9.1_nforce_8.34_xp_vista_win7.ex_

That's probably because the double "." are within the beginning of the file and not at the end.

That's an excellent bug report.  And looks to me like an obscure one too, especially since hardly anybody uses Method-1 anymore.
I'm not surprised this slipped through testing.

Just wanted to say that I've also experienced this issue.  Thanks to this thread, I was able to work around it by not using the cab compressed versions of the files.

Yes you are right, using non compressed versions is another way to bypass the problem altogether, like I said before I decided to rename them all manually.
