Topic: Fast fix for HP 8540p in XP? =)

Hi folks!

Thanx for the excellent work with DriverPacks! smile

Now to my problem like many others when it comes to new laptops..
I cannot install XP with latest Driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901.7z so I tried the Nightly DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_100221.7z but that one was even worse tongue (then I get that the txtsetup.sif is wrong)
So my question is if I can get a quick fix to try out for Windows XP..

The testing DriverPack MassStorage ONLY works with the testing version of DriverPacks BASE.  NOT with the release version (8.12.5) of DriverPacks BASE.
What version of DriverPacks BASE did you use? wink

Probably the same for the HP 8440p

So in other words use for now the DriverPacks BASE 10.03.06 and the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_100221.7z until the Official files comes out if you have a problem with the new HP Elitebook series..

Can you tell me when it will be possible to download these releases of DriverPacks BASE 10.03.06 and the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_100221.7z ?
I have 8540p machines here and I would like to use the BartPE CD.

I will test this tomorrow at work. I have some old other models of machines that I will also test like HP 8530p, HP 6910p, HP nc6400, HP nc6220, HP dc7x00, Dell Latitude d6x0, Dell Optiplex GX620, Optiplex 7xx and some other Lenovo models.

HP nc6220 : OK
HP 2730p : OK
Dell Latitude D630 : OK
Dell Latitude D620 : OK
Dell Latitude D610 : OK
Lenovo T500 : OK

About the HP nc6400, I don't have a bluescreen at boot up but the problem is that the disk is not recognized. I use a BartPE CD and when I use diskpart, it says that there are no fixed disk to show.
I have tried on multiple nc6400 with he same result.
If I create a BartPE with the Base 8125 and use the MassStorage DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901.7z, I can access the disk.
How can I help you troubleshooting/resolving this ?

Sorry for the delay.
Unfortunately it doesn't work, the problem is still the same; the machine boots up with no problem/error but the disk cannot be seen.

that is strange i reverted the driver in I3 (the one your machine should have used) back to the one it was in 901

Yes, very strange.
I have started over again and it doesn't work.
I have tried Base 8.125 and Mass Storage 901, it works.
I have tried Base 10.0401rc and Mass Storage 901, it works.
But Base 10.0401rc and Mass Storage 100429 doesn't work.
I don't understand why there are no errors, the drivers seems to be correctly loaded but the disk is 'invisible'.

Edit : I have looked in the registry on a machine where it works and on a machine where it doesn't and the iastor.sys used is the same (v8.5.3.1002).

I'm having problems booting to Bart PE on HP 8540p via external HDD.  I've followed the instructions to include driverpacks into the build.  I'm currently using DriverPacks BASE 10.06 and Mass Stor 10.09.  Boots fine in IDE mode just not AHCI mode.  Bart is using XP-SP3 as source.  I'm assuming the HWID's will be the same as listed up top, but if you need them from my device please let me know.  Thanks!

Well I think the Intel RST 9.??6.??0.??1014 that supports your HWID is broken.  I've been playing with the new RST 10.0.0.1046 with great success.  I'll be putting it in a nightly soon for more testing.

Which external HDD do you use?
Which connector do you use? Do you use USB2.0, USB 3.0 or another connector?
