Topic: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

Post updated 29 Nov.  Read below!
Here's our latest batch of DriverPacks we've cooked up for you.  Fresh and HOT from our oven!
Once again, we're opening up testing to you! Our loving public. smile
But please remember, that these are Release Candidates, and not Releases.  Try not to deploy these into a production or critical environment.  We're releasing these for testing purposes only.
We've tested, tested, and tested some more.  But we don't own all the hardware in the world, so we need broader testing from all of you.

This newer release candidate restores driver-signing to all the Nvidia drivers!
I'll leave the older links and info below, but if no bugs are found then these will become the final product; hopefully a 9.12 release for the Holidays.
We also changed the folder structure a bit because of a bug discovered in testing where the DriverPacks wouldn't install if too many Third Party DriverPacks were also used.
Please report back successes & failures to this thread.  The sooner you get those reports back to us, the sooner we can make these a final release.
Thanks, and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Older releases below.

One known issue (not a problem if you integrate using DriverPacks BASE), is all the Nvidia graphics drivers have had their driver-signing broken.  This was unavoidable due to the fact Nvidia has intentionally crippled their .inf so as not to work with DriverPacks.  But we figured out the missing bit and now they work fine!  For those who want to play with the original signed .inf files, they're tucked away safe and sound in "Original.7z" in their respective folders.

I have used DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_910rc1 on an ASUS P5N7A-VM - NVIDIA GeForce 9300 / nForce 730i... the video driver installs perfectly but the PhysX doesn't install

OK, I'll look into it when I get back to the UK.

I have done many installs already since I have been testing so much and no longer have it but I am doing a few more today so I will get you a latest version... Thanks

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

Thanks.  DriverPacks Finisher doesn't install PhysX, but it lets me see different aspects post-install.
Like which .inf was used to trigger the install.
Only the newer drivers auto-install PhysX from the .inf.  The older ones (v93.71) won't.

Could you also include all the C:\Windows\setup***.log files too?

Haven't forgotten you... just haven't been able to get past my mass storage problem yet so I never get to the graphics... I  will try it in IDE mode today

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

I sent the Finisher log, the setupact log and the setuperr log but I have to keep breaking the files and sending in parts due to character count limitation the others are too big to do that way

mr_smartepants did you get the logs OK? ...I know it was a pain due to the multiple parts but it was the only way...

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

Yeah, I did get them, but I haven't had a chance to look through them yet.  I'm having issues of my own today! >:(

Trust me...I completely understand smile

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

Wonderfull job mr_smartepants.

N1  190.62 install succes.

For the older nVidia drivers N and N3,is the best way,to remove the orginale Display adapters from your Xp cd with nLite.before slipstream driverPack.
Then the install for 93.71 and 175.16 are always succes full..

Thanks again ...bye

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

Thank you for the good news. smile
I've been testing rc2 here to try to solve the problem where ATI CCC won't run after install.  I'm stumped. sad
I even added the older 9.3.1 Catalyst CCC to A1\ but even that won't run properly.  I'm going to keep testing until I figure this out.
For the record, this problem only affects cards that do NOT use the signed .inf files (ie, mobility.inf).
9.10rc1 works perfectly on my HD3450, but not mobility x600.

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

I used the rc versions and both ATI and Nvidia drivers didnt work on 2 laptops.
One has Ati Mobility Radeon x1400, and the other one has nvidia 9600m GS installed.
Both seem like installed but got exclamation marks at them.

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

I should have the ATI bug fixed in my local 9.11rc copy.  I have more tests to run tonight and I may upload them later this week.
I don't know what's going on with that nvidia bug.

Looking into it more, there's an overlap in the DriverPacks for your board.  This mobo has combined graphics/chipset on the board which requires the Nforce all-in-one package here.  The Nforce package does NOT install PhysX by default.
This is a problem for the DriverPacks team because the nforce drivers are version-matched for the other components as well (LAN, audio, chipset, graphics, etc).  Any mismatch within DriverPacks will cause problems during install.
I'm not sure how we're going to solve this one.  But you can build a custom dp yourself with only the nforce driver package (not too hard).  I may make one for you over the weekend just to test.
Also, Nvidia released new 191.66 Quadro drivers that will NOT make it into the 9.11 release, but I'll work on a nightly for testing.

BTW, I uploaded the new release candidates (9.11rc1) in the testing team forum.  Please reply in that thread with your experiences (good/bad).
I also found that the ATICCC install bug was caused by an undocumented dependency on .NET 2.0 AND VC++ redistributable!  Installing both .NET/VC++ I now have zero problems with the current RC trifecta on all my ATI-based systems. smile

I just tested on a friends ASUS A8N-VM CSM (Nvidia GeForce 6150 / nForce 430) and like you, everything installed perfectly EXCEPT PhysX.  Looking into it more...

Let me know if you want me to test anything on this system this weekend... I am home and will only have access to it until Sunday night... I brought some other laptops home and will test those and I also have an older NV4 system that I may get to test

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

Can you test the dp I built for abdou to test (in the testing team area)?
It's built with the new 191-series drivers and is meant to solve his issues with non-enu language installs.
But it might solve your issue as well.

Good job! It's always nice to see those un-documentations getting documented. smile

Just to keep everyone up-to-date.  I've cleaned up all the graphics DriverPacks and made them FINAL!  big_smile
But I'm waiting for one tester to report back before releasing them.

Re: Release Candidates of Graphics DriverPacks open for public testing!

WooHoo!  Thanks for the confirmed success!  We got ourselves a FINAL!
Yes, I did not include the older driver.
If someone else requests it, I can add it to DriverPack Graphics C though.
Now that all the Nvidia drivers are signed, it doesn't really matter.

Updated first post with ATI CCC dependent runtimes tdp.

MD5: 09ec3f6b5406c62ab9b99b55d88e3319
Size: 21 MB

Completes the runtime requirement for the ATI Catalyst Control Center.  Contains .NET 2.0 & VC 2005/2008 installers (compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003).
Only required if you do not already integrate .NET and VC 2005/2008 in your source.
.NET 2.0 installer graciously donated by YumeYao.  A .NET All-In-One (2.0, 3.0, 3.5) installer is also available for download.  Just replace dotnetfx.exe in this package with the .NET AIO if desired.
