Topic: New releases of DriverPack Graphics A & B

It's been 6 long months since we released DriverPack Graphics A & B, but now they're here at long last.  Almost everything in these DriverPacks have changed since the last releases.
DriverPack Graphics A is completely new.
Many of you are wondering why we're releasing  DriverPack Graphics A with the older Nvidia 185.85 drivers instead of the latest 186.18...well to be frank, they're broken.  We worked countless hours to make 186.18 work during the Windows setup, but to-date, could not.  So in the end, we reverted to our standard mantra: "Stability before currency".

DriverPack Graphics B has many changes as well.  In fact, only a single folder is unchanged from our previous release.
DriverPack Graphics C, as forecast, has had no changes whatsoever. smile

Also updated was the PhysX and Language DriverPacks.  These DriverPacks get placed in the 3rd party folder before integration.

Since it's been 6 months since our last release, this is a good opportunity to highlight the fact that we at DriverPacks.net have NO set release schedule.  We will release as often as possible without sacrificing quality and stability.  We strive to release updated DriverPacks every month, but our team roster has never been lower.  If you think you have what it takes to be a DriverPacks tester or better yet a DriverPacks builder, make some contributions in the forums and we may add you to the team!  smile

Re: New releases of DriverPack Graphics A & B

Yep! This is one fan waiting for those 9.3.1 drivers to be included in the appropriate Graphics Pack. Seeing as it will be the last update for whole families of gpu, may as well get 'er dun!

thanks folks!

Re: New releases of DriverPack Graphics A & B

very cool. Thank you! I have just one question. How old must a driver be to be added into Graphics C? I would suggest, that if a driver isnt updated any more at all for a long time or is put to legacy status, than its old card or not? Then it would make things easier to maintain only the drivers, that are updated continually. And of course...stability and quality before currency {applause}. Then user can be sure he/she has the best drivers for its card.

Re: New releases of DriverPack Graphics A & B

Well, there aren't any 'rules' for the driver distribution method.  But in my opinion, once a vendor says "hey, we're never going to update this driver...ever", that pretty much relegates it to DriverPack Graphics C status. wink
But...
We try to keep the DriverPacks balanced.  Otherwise one would get too large while the others too light.  It's a juggling act.
But I agree with you.  Catalyst 9.3.1 should get moved to DriverPack Graphics C.

Re: New releases of DriverPack Graphics A & B

I'll bet there're more than a few of us with these All-In-Wonder capture cards in our #2 machines. eh?

Anyway, I won't nag you any further. I'm giving away my older machine & am trying to give the gift of

painless reinstalls to go with it.

salut!

Re: New releases of DriverPack Graphics A & B

I uploaded v. 9090rc1 of all the graphics DriverPacks a few days ago to the testing team.  If all goes well these will become final 9.10.  We may or may not go public with the rc depending on testing team input.
