Topic: unknown device in Win7

I have Win7 RTM but I cannot determine what this device is. Does anyone have an idea?

USB\VID_1B96&PID_0001&REV_0000&MI_02

it appears in device manager as an unknown device and I am not seeing a driver on the net.

This is from an HP TouchSmart tx2

Thanks for any leads
Hal

Probably a webcam.
You can restore the HP using it's restore disk (Vista, XP?), then run the HWID tool and match it.

Re: unknown device in Win7

"looking up the USB vendor ID (1B96) and product ID (0001) on the Internet the vendor is "N-Trig" and the product is "Duosense Transparent Electromagnetic Digitizer", i.e. the digitizer hardware for the multi-touch display."

try this driver

ftp://ftp.dell.com/input/R177489.exe

Isn't that what the evil computer used to suck the programmer into the computer-world in the movie "Tron". wink

I don't know, didn't see this movie.

Re: unknown device in Win7

Oh, then you absultely must watch it!
I'd rate it alongside with "Wargames" and "Hackers" for the typical 80ies computer nerd movies.

Also, the game "Tron 2.0" is well worth it if you're into computers, given all the tonuge-in-cheek jokes and whatnot. Really funny and visually embracing.
