Topic: SAD - "sndrec32 not found"

After SAD driver installation the Finisher is started, just before it ends
an error occurs: "sndrec32 not found". The file is not on the systemdrive.
"%systemdrive%\D" is deleted, but "systemdrive%\DPsFnshr.exe" is left.

finisher is deleted after a reboot...

sound recorder is part of windows...
i assume that you most likely removed it with nlite,
or you simply have a corrupt target machine.

The error is not critical as it was just trying to play a ding sound to let you know it was done smile

Ya know, I've seen this before as well, but never bothered reporting it...  AFAik everything in the Win install was fine.....

Just my quick 2 cents

sndrec32.exe Should be in %SystemRoot%\system32\ and that folder should be in the path.

if either of these things is not true then I would consider that a corrupt install... wink

Furthurmore
If you intentionaly corrupted it, then
I expect you have the smarts to disable that line in the DP_Inst_Tool.cmd - lol

oh besides , sndrec32.exe is not in system32 , but this one is there :

SoundRecorder.exe

EDIT: after renaming soundrecorder.exe -> sndrec32.exe (only a copy of the file) the error of "sndrec32.exe not found" is gone, but this the windows "file not found" (the ones closing after 30secs" is still there , and funny thing is that sndrec32.exe is getting executed and running during SAD process.. lol ?

EDIT2: ok while the /media folder is empty, no .wav (beep.wav) is anymore there, so the error comes up cause of this , sorry for disturbing you guys ;-)
