Topic: quick driver DVD

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a driver-DVD where I can quickly find an appropiate driver.
I don't want to install DPINST.exe, I just want a DVD with all INF files ready to be used.

I unpacked the driverpacks to my harddisk, but XP won't find any driver when I tell
it to look there.

I unpacked and burned the driverpacks to a DVD, and tried it. Now XP will accept it.
BUT ... it's taking VERY long to find a driver for my multimedia controller.

It goes VERY fast with this release :

Any way to make something similar for you guys ?

thanks for any info !

Re: quick driver DVD

you can look at wsnows app... (in software)

NO... we don't directly support attended installs... DriverPacks is for unattended installs, always has been, probably always will be.

extracting the packs to a dvd is a viable solution (not supported) but is as good as we offer directly.

Thanks for taking the time to look around and finding the SAD feature on your own, well done!
SAD is as close as we get to supporting Attended installations. wink

Welcome to DriverPacks and have a great day!

Re: quick driver DVD

You can always use Daemon Tools or the like to mount an image file (IOS or similar) to a virtual optical drive and have it search from there.
Access time and trafnsfer rates as if it was a HDD folder (which it basically is) plus keeps you from wasting a DVD-R on that.
DPINST does just do that, let you search folders on HDD recursively, something that is limited to ODD by default (for reasons God knows why...).
