Topic: Running the DriverPack Finsher.exe file in silent mode?

Is there a silent switch that can be used for the DriverPacks Finsher.exe so you do not see the grey box that pops up while it is running it? For that matter if you are not applying the KTD does it need to be run at all?

Thanks in advance folks sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section.

Stoner.

EDIT - I think I have found the answer here ----> http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=946

but is this .ini file created once the driverpacks have been included using Driver Base?

Thanks.

Re: Running the DriverPack Finsher.exe file in silent mode?

Thank buddy i feel a reet plonker!!! big_smile still good for a giggle at least!

One last small thing still tho is if you do not use KTD does the finisher still need to run? just curious really since at least i know that the splash screen can be hidden now.

Thanks for you quick response Overflow much appreciated!!!

Stoner.

EDIT - I have found the .ini file in question so will do a test to make sure it removes the splash screen which im sure it will. Thanks again guys!

Re: Running the DriverPack Finsher.exe file in silent mode?

The DriverPacks Finisher still needs to run if you want all those nifty control panel thingys.  It takes care of the secondary installers for you silently (just look at the content of each DriverPacks .ini file for the cmd line.)

Re: Running the DriverPack Finsher.exe file in silent mode?

IE
ati control panel
nvidia control panel
RAID managers
Wireless configuration panels
Realtek audio taskbar icon
ect...

Plus some drivers will not install at all if their setup programs don't run.
and they would be called from the finisher...

if you don't "finish" your install it is not 'done'. smile

speaking of being nosey...

why do you wish to rob us of our 2 minutes of glory?
