[FIXED] Download problem (Page 1 of 2)

Thank's for your answer but I can't download them.

Always the same message.

But I can download all other than Graphics packs.

I don't understand what happen this time.

Is there a mirror I can get them ?

It was only an overload on the server.

I've got the same problem, but only with the Graphics C package ... There is everytime the 503 error ... since yesterday afternoon ..

Tried it with Opera, FF and IE (clear Caches and so on): 503 error ...

Tried all these things and nothing of them helps me ...

Simple CDN is a Cluster of geographicaly dispersed servers (mirrors)...

that is the point of useing them...

Nope... we have to wait on Bâshrat the Sneaky to resolve this for us...

I can offer you this much insight into the situation

We know that we average well over 32,000 downloads a day, everyday. (a million downloads a month)...
The downloads are working for the majority of us...

My best guess is that if 3 people are reporting an issue then there is probably about a 100:1 lurker ratio. Infering that 300 users are affected or 1%. I / We consider that a serious problem, and we are working to resolve it.

However, since tens of thousands of users are still getting the files, there must be a way for you to get there too! 
can you try it from a different location...?

Yeah me too... took four trys to get it to work...

i would like to see the stats at the end of this month
since we havent released an graphics packs in 6 months
they are probably just getting slaughtered with requests...

Perhaps they are haveing some issues as a result of the upgrade...
I just checked and it seems like the paris server is unavailable.
however Chicago and Los Angeles were available but still 503ed me.

i thought it was possable our files got eaten
and i re-uploaded them last night (perhaps giving it a swift kick)...
but that seemed to be no help either...

i also tried to cheat and link directly to the edge servers to no avail...
we will have to see what Bâshrat the Sneaky finds out...

I'm sure this has already come up, but have you guys thought about adding torrents? I've got a 4Mb pipe that never gets used that I'd be happy to seed on for a while. I've downloaded graphics B & C, but I can't get A.

I'd be happy to, except I don't know how to create torrent files. I would need your help w/ how to get started. I would also feel a little better if a couple other people joined in, so my server doesn't get hammered (too much). Let me know what you think.

Yes, we've had the torrent discussion several times now.
Thing is, torrents would still be distributed at least one time (fro the pack creator to you for instance), because you cannot assume that everyone who creates a pack also has the additional upload and or up time (preferrably 24/7) to spread them via bittorrent themselves.
So, you'd have to set up some sort of FTP access on your own machine that we could use, plus you'd need to be available 24/7 as a pack may be finished any time of the day seeing our team is international (timezones).

Personally, I find all DLs to work perfectly well and fast.
As a similar problem has occured with our old host, may I suggest playing around with your proxy settings?
Last time, disabling your proxy worked for a lot of users, while for those having the same ISP as me, enabling proxy was what cured the glitch.

Also, hard reloading the webpage using [CTRL]+[F5] can help switching you to another mirror of the CDN.

I disagree with this theory. I have several customers located throughout the state that I can access remotely. Each customer has a unique ISP, and my ISP is unique to them. I have used IE and Firefox, through Qwest DSL, Cox Cable and even a NetZero account, utilitizing more than 12 PCs, some XP, some Vista, and still Graphics B and C are consistantly unavailable and have been so every day since I started trying to download them (last Wednesday). I've tried downloading in the morning, in the afternoon and even in the evening. It makes no difference.

This is a much bigger issue than 1% or a faulty DNS or ISP. This is 100% down for 100% of the people from my perspective.

I love DriverPacks, its just a shame I can't get them.
