Topic: drivers not getting picked up on dell laptop

i hav succesfully used my unattended/driverpacks dvd on 2 dell desktops. is there a reason why the drivers for video, modem, lan wouldnt get paicked up on a laptop d830? i have exclamation points in device manager. thanks
