Topic: [SLV] Intel IDE drivers are seperated from the MassStorage

I'm just curious on why this is the case. For me I have to scan both C:\D\C\I for *ide.inf and add those HWIDS, and then C:\D\M...

Also, is it possible to change the inf's that are specific to a certain OS to have something like infname_xp.inf? That way when searching for HWIDS we don't accidentally add 2000 only inf?

Re: [SLV] Intel IDE drivers are seperated from the MassStorage

no we cant rename teh infs it breaks driver signing... same for ide.inf
i assume the one ide driver is seperate because it is included with a signed chipset driver...

it is probably also a replaceme3nt driver
(meaning you dont want it for sysprep = conflict with existing driver)

@kickarse
Intel offers chipset drivers. These chipset drivers contain IDE part.

Intel IDE drivers are different. They don't add binary files.
*.inf file adds windows default driver: pciiide.sys or intelide.sys.

At windows textmode installation, pciiide.sys or intelide.sys matches hardware too.
No need to add Intel IDE at textmode part.
