Topic: Downgrade to XP on notebook with SATA

Hello ,
Im searching for 3 days an solution - Im death .. please help !
I have new Sony Vaio FW11E I realy need to downgrade to XP . But after XP try to load drivers Ive got blue screen where is something like this :

installation has been stop until PC is damaged ...
you should check viruses , uninstall new devices or hd , check if is hd good configured or ended ...
0x0000007b , 0xf78de524 , 0x0000034 , 0.00000000 , 0.0000000

There is Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI , Hitachi  Travelstar 5K250 familly (HTS542525K9S)

I have tried use nlite + your pack but it doesnt help

We need a little more info than "Tried your pack but it doesn't help".
Can you read this post then report back?

Also, I find it difficult to believe you can't change ANY settings in the bios.  You must have a setting for your hard drive controller for either 'AHCI' (recommended) or 'Legacy'.
That error code is usually caused by the hard drive not responding to queries.  Either a hardware problem, or driver problem.

trust me , I have the simplest bios which can exist . Im able to change date and time , set passworld , set boot devices and save and exit thats all . Bios show me HD but there is simply information : 250 GB and this item is lighter than other (which Im able to change) and I can not to do anything with this .

I used search function first , but Win didnt found it . So I took a look in Windows dir and there is not this file (I have hiden files "showed")

OK I feel as stupid ... but I cant realy find it :-/ ....  I tried new thing , I integrated SP3 to my XP ... and Ive got new blue screen with this code :

Sounds like a bad CD/DVD burn.  Did you try installing XP under a VM like VirtualPC or VirtualBox?
If you integrated DriverPacks, and everything got copied over during txtsetup and XP got past the T-39 stage of install; then we have a problem.  Otherwise, something different is wrong with your XP install source.

what I thougt first was : I had wrong version of XP or damaged DVD so I borowed  another one from my friend , both versions do the same thing , code 0x0000007b , 0xf78de524 , 0x0000034 , 0.00000000 , 0.0000000 (both versions included driverpack )


VirtualPC :
I downloaded Virtual PC I installed it (I had problem with instalation , because it said it is not supporting Home Edition , but installation was completed) , I tried to instal XP (included drivespacks) , it works good , installer miss loading and offer me partiton to instal .

again .... virtual PC take XP install dvd without problems , offered me partiton to instal again .

Yes, you cannot install VPC on an XP Home Edition - that'S a limitation by MS (you can run an XP Home inside the VM, though).

You should try Virtual Box in your case:

What files are in the OEM folder on your CD?

or can you post your DPs_BASE.log?

Im so stupid :-) When I tried  to instal XP in Virtual Box or Virtual PC I dont know why but I used image from HD (UH) .... but now I tried DVD - I can not install it , ive got this mesage : FATAL :  Could not read from the boot medium ! System halted .

As I suspected, bad DVD.
Bad DVD, naughty bad DVD!  <whip crack>

Try rebuilding your source from scratch again.  Then rebuild the ISO and test that ISO in virtualbox.  If all is well, burn to DVD then test that DVD in virtualbox.
THEN test in real metal hardware.

So I have to do anything wrong during burning , because my ISO works everytime perfect - without any problems ...I tried it few times with different versions which I tried to do  ! But I dont know what is it ....

HM ...  it is funny , now I tried to use not changed IMG from dics and it works too .... so seems to me there is something wrong with my DVD-RAM  burner ... (???)
