Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

Hi,
is your host OS UK english or US english?

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

the error message is an if exist file check after the copy.
so did the file get copied or not...
IE i dont know if the copy failed, or if the detection of the file after the copy failed.

I am using Windows XP SP 3 with US English. Any way English is second language for me. If there is a need to change that to British English I can change it.

It's look like the driverpacks files have been copied despite of the error message. But I have not yet checked by reinstalling the OS. Currently Windows XP SP3 is having Avira Antivirus, Comodo personal firewall and no other security software's are installed.

Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

Hello,
I am down here in Australia, also having the same issue:
Same error:

"Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!"

My Language is US English
Platform:         wnt5_x86-32_disc
OS:                XP SP3 Home Edition
Driver packs    method 2
All Driver Packs (including all 3rd pary drivers)
KTD:                All  (didn't work on none)
QuickStream Cache: No   (didn't work on yes either)

I don't understand why i am having this issue. it has worked many times before (10-15 times at least over the last 12 months)
And i am going about it with the same process as i have always done, I first Use nLite (a saved known working session with all tweaks and add-ons)  then DriverPacks.
I can send on the logs from DPBase and nLite if they are of help,

the only thing i can think that has changed, is the latest build of the Driver Packs (i did have 7.10ish driver packs) now i have the latest.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Good luck!

Josh

Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

welcome to DriverPacks jbbjshlws, We are glad your here...

Thanks for the good details. It makes it so much easier to help you.

same question as before did the files end up in the destination folder?
also were you useing a clean source or were you running base a second time on the source?

I am thinking, at the moment, that the base's dpinst file check is not done yet...

Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

Hello OverFlow!
I have noticed something interesting after looking around my system...
the DP_Install_Tool file is in:
"D:\USB LAPTOP\CD images\XP unatt\2008\XP home 4June08\OEM"
while the rest of the install cd is in:
"D:\USB  LAPTOP\CD images\XP unatt\2008\XP home 4June08"

They look almost the same.... but for some reason the CD files original folder "USB LAPTOP" only has two spaces, where the DP_Install_Tool's "USB  LAPTOP" has one space,....

I am not sure why DPBase isnt placing a 2nd space in the file name, but ill try copying everything to a diffrent location and keep you posted,..would be interesting if someone could varify this problem somewhere else

Ohh, as my username is a mouth (keyboard) full, my name is Josh, might be easier

Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

it may have to do with how autoit is parsing nested double quotes in the code

try useing a pathname without double spaces wink

Re: [REQ] Unable to add the DP_Install_Tool!

I just retried it, and it works aslong as their is no double spaces,
