Topic: BSOD - si3531 error with sp2 textmode

im getting  a message on the screen saying

STOP C0000221 unknown hard error

can any one help?
its for a laptop.

i've gone thru a silly amount of dvd's and stuff now im going to give up at this rate as now i get a bluescreen when i use older drivers

BSOD now says
session3_initialzation_failed :S

try toggleing the mode of the Silicon image 3531 controller (raid / base)

rewritable DVD's are an invaluable asset...

its set as base and in txt mode i've tryed pnp and nothing works its anoying and some dvd-rw shall be purchased

try raid mode please and report...

SI has been a thorn in our side for quite some time now.

perhaps it's time to 'split' the mass storage pack into two parts.

A pack being purely non-raid drivers and HWIDs.

B pack being all of the raid stuff and HWIDs.

it is not a stop 00007B and I think the error is caused by something else.
I noticed we do not have the sound HWID
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_408517C0&REV_03\3&21436425&0&D8
when I look for generic portion of this I do not find this part either.

I suggest you try without the sound DriverPacks

The answer was 42?

i've only once tryed with the sound drivers and all other attempts have been with out any other drivers i mainly have stuck to the mass storage packs and the drivers that are on the restore partition of the drive.

Jaak attempted this once before he called it his sfx-mini-packs and it was a loser... wink
I helped him with it and like you thought that it had potential...

The silicon image 3531 driver was added quite recently.

OverFlow quotes me when he says other Silicon Image drivers have been a thorn in our side.
Some of those can drive us nuts.

I've actually put their INI sections in blocks (non-raid sections and then raid sections) so that a user could ealily change load order of an entire block of silicon image.

I have not found a driver with your sound HWID yet.
I would like to see some links to the machine vendor's drivers.. I have no idea what this thing is.

ill upload the drivers to my webspace for you today.

also i have no option to enable raid on my laptop in the bios.

if any one can  find a way to get my sata drivers to work they would indeed be a legend! i dont want to stick with vista!

i've added some more drivers that are floppy disk image for F6 and thats direct from my restore cd neutral
any one able to throw some suggestions or add the drivers to the packs?

delt with this now found the folder with press F6 bit in made a floppy lent a mates usb floppy drive and it works now smile
