I have the BSOD issue when attempting to slipstream the MassStorage pack 8.02.1 to a win xp sp 2 installation. My hardware info is as below.

I have attempted both method 1 and method 2, but get the same error on each.

I have siI 3112 bios version 4.2.50 , which is part of the abit bios version 27 for the motherboard. Any help appreciated.

I should add;
- I'm connecting a single (new) sata drive to the motherboard onboard sata header. I'm not using raid
- The windows set-up recognizes the drive, and allows me to format, and copied all file required for install
- The install then reboots for the first time, at which point I get the BSOD STOP: 0x0000007B (0Xf7c46528, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

Hi
I looked up that mobo, and see that the Sil3112 is onboard, and we cover it.

However, it seems that the problem is with NVIDIA's IDE driver.
We do not have PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0065&SUBSYS_1C00147B
(Abit's Nforce download does not have the specic subsys either.)
We do not have PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0065 (This is in the Nforce 510 driver I downloaded.)

This motherboard was built in 2003?
I figure we had updates which dropped that.
We should try fix this, but old and new Nvidia drivers are not easy to have together.
Just hang on, and we'll see what we can do.

changes in this,
[N-TM] I added three HWIDs to NVidia TextMode.
Strange..
I got driver for the ABIT mobo, and its oemsetup.txt file lists these HWIDs, but the ABIT driver's INF does not list it..
The ABIT's driver is older, so I added the HWIDs to the Pack's INI only

The answer was 42?

Thanks for posting the nightly build. I just attempted to use the build but still obtained the BSOD. I had two attempts

Attempt 1
- Slipstream MassStorage Pack nightly build and massStorage text mode drivers
- used method 1, no cache, all other settings as standard
- bsod after first reboot

Attempt 2
- Slipstream MassStorage Pack nightly build and massStorage text mode drivers
- used method 2, no cache,all other settings as standard
- bsod after first reboot

Any other ideas appreciated.

since the HDD is connected to the si3112...

you have teh same problem i do when i reload ... go into your bios and turn on raid for the SI3112...

your problem should be solved...

or you can put the Base driver ahaid of the raid driver in the mass INI

with the Si chipsets...

It is possible to turn raid on but keep the drives in a non-raid configuration?

You are able to use a single drive with the controller in raid mode. I do.

You can't switch a drive from base to raid or from raid to base without fomatting it though.

Hi
you do not have to build a RAID array when the chip is set to RAID mode.

I think you missed something OverFlow mentions.
You can un7zip the mass storrage Driverpack to edit its INI.
Rightclick the file, use 7zip to unzip to folder.

You will find the RAID and NON-RAID sections for Silicon Image sorted per mode, and the RAID mode drivers are below the NON-RAID sections.
When you move the section you want to use below the "other mode" of same driver it loads later during TXTmode. This works.
You then have to repack.
Select the edited INI and the D folder and make the archive.
It will suggest the name of the old pack.
You have 803B ? Make it 803C. Copy this to the folder you use with DPsBase.
If you used QSC, delete the mass storage folder from QSC cached folders.
Use a copy of source you did not slipstream DriverPacks into, and stream that one.

notes, you can delete sections in the INI and leave drivers in the folders, and that won't cause errors during slipstream. You cannot delete folders and leave the sections in INI, because that will break slipstream.

the INI section trick may need to be a FAQ if a solution is not found.

on some laptops the si3112 bios doesn't offer raid mode (and why would it since only one internal hdd bay is available)

All - based on the above - The approach I took;

1. Decompress 803B nighly with 7zip
2. Rework the .ini file to move the SiI non-raid drivers below the raid drivers
3. compress the .ini and drivers using 7zip and name 803C
4. Leave the raid controller disabled in bios, and connect my single hard drive direct to the sata controller
5. Slipstream 803C and textmode drivers using method 2
6. Burn to CD and attempt clean install

Early indications are Good news. the install completed and im going through initial config. i will let you know the full results.

The problem is that when I write it up in condensed form, I use "translated" menus.

You say you disabled the RAID controller, and connect to the sata controller.
I hope you want to find out what can be done with the controller you disabled.
I mean, it makes little sense to move the Silicon INI sections if you are not going to have hooked up anything to that controller.
What I was saying is that (most cases) a controller can be set to RAID with ONE drive hooked up to it.
I do this. My silicon chip will support removable data drives (removable drivetray) which are NOT in an array while the chip is in its default setting (RAID support ON).
OH... whichever mode it is set to, I cannot BOOT from my silicon chip as it is a tertiary chip.
In your mobo, it should be able to boot from Silicon.

You can learn a few things about the capabilities of that mobo if you are enthusiastic enough an go for a few testruns in different configurations. That way, we all learn. We like it if you help us help you, and would love to hear what your findings are. (drive connected to this or that controller in this or that mode.. and which INI load order was used.)

I wish silicon drivers would not have us do this. We chose to have all of them IN the pack because a split pack (and SFX MiniPacks) is even worse.

I boot with cd, it detected HDD, i formate,that's load file,reboot again,instal,but when installation is finsged i have blue screen with error message when XP load.......

I go to Bios configuration,I disable Sata native...and XP start normaly !!!

I will try to instal it with simple driver and floppy disk tomorow and i will give you hwid (i forget to get it today)

it's not nvidia,but intel chipset....it's same fix ??

I tryed to instal with simple XP (without driver pack) and disable sata,Installation work fine but when i activate native sata again,I get same errors.

I will try to integrate driver with nlite and see if that's work

cd created with nlite and drivers added and selected in text mode,that's work just perfectly !!

that's mean that probleme is in driverpack...

1; Was this a brand new hard disk when you started?
2; did you set AHCI mode in BIOS before you started the FIRST setup?

The answer was 42?

it's a new netbook...it come with vista but people don't like vista in Algeria lol



I disable anything in bios....

simple Xp don't detect HDD when sata activated..



first timee I instal with drivers pack but i have error when XP load in first boot?i disable sata native mode in bios and that's work i don't have error.....

after this I try to instal with sata native mode disabled in bios without any driver pack,but same probleme when i activate it again....

I download sata driver from Hp site http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te … ob-51521-1 ,i extract it and add it with nlite and i select text mode..and that's work perctly with sata activated ^^

according to what I understand, masstorage driver pack detect the HDD in the text mode, but does not load the driver during installation.

Is this possible?

INI fix for Symmpi for XP.
INI fix for [N-6] by OverFlow

Silicon sections now in THREE blocks so that a user can easily move these around or remove these from INI.
Base-IDE RAID and RAID-5 (aka softraid)

S8A,  Silicon removed
V3, Via updated

that experiment with N-TM is no longer in
I have No fix for intel ACPI
