Topic: Raid - Using MassStorage Driver

Windows XP instalation fails when the HDD are set for Raid, specifically stripping or mirroring. I had first posted my finding on msfn
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?sho … ntry725029
But I have narrowed the problem to the massStorage driver & not the XP Service Pack 3 as I first thought. I was able to do the install on my PC using a CD I made in October. That CD had DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7092.7z. The CD I made yesterday had DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7121.7z & this was failing. So I redid the CD I made yesterday, but used DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7092.7z & the installation was able to complete. I am making another CD using DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_711.7z & will update the results

Re: Raid - Using MassStorage Driver

Welcome to DriverPacks

Thanks for reporting your problem.

I think i may know what is wrong but i need your HWID for your raid controller
or at least a good description of it IE manufacturer, model, bios version, etc.

Ideally  we would like to have all the above info to give you the best support.

I am positive that sp3 is not your problem. but i am compelled to give you the canned answer.

canned answer:
"If you have DriverPacks BASE 7.5.2 or previous version then sp3 is not supported (you didn't mention which base you used)
beta's are not supported (Release Candidates are still beta) if Microsoft don't support it we don't either"

again i am positive that sp3 is not your problem. so don't sweat that right now.

give us the above requested details and i think i already know what to do to get you up and running
But i cannot fix it without knowing which driver we are talking about.

please read the "read before you post" to help with any future issues you may have.

I see you updated your post and cross posted with my post
But you didn' give your hwid's or hdd controler description

DPs_BASE_7052
Let me figure out how to upload the other 3 DriverPacks files you need

Re: Raid - Using MassStorage Driver

use the hwids tool in my sig you don't have to worry about ini and log for your issue
thanks for the effort though

Ps i was refering to the controller bios not the MB bios

Re: Raid - Using MassStorage Driver

It looks as though a driver was dropped because we belived we had a universal driver to replace it

DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7092\D\M\N\590SLI\R was dropped

and we belived it was supported now by

DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7121\D\M\N\5

this is apparently not the case - thank you for reporting it.
If we put a test pack up will you test it for us and report back? it would be awsome if you will.

am i correct that you were able to see it in text mode but it would not then finish setup after the file copy?

Re: Raid - Using MassStorage Driver

hmm...... 8.01 does not work  :-(

Re: Raid - Using MassStorage Driver

from memory? 590 will fight either 520/540/630 and maybe also Nforce4
I have to look up why.

We have no easy solution to that one, and a I am Not going to write an SFx_Mini_pack.

The suggested solution is that all Nvidia with a number are edited out of INI and you leave N-TM in the INI.
you do NOT delete drivers from pack.
repack
We think 590 cannot co-exist in txtmode
I think we left it  as a non-referenced folder for PnP .

You are smart, help us.
Make it work, and tell us how.

EDIT EITHER° WAS ADDED IN FIRST LINE.
