can you tell us what is your HWID?
It is more likely that we need to tag a few more drivers in the inf for windows 2000.
It has a very small number of drivers that can be used at the same time before we run out of memory.
we will need to look at the list and create some new exceptions.

@jaak he didn't listen... sorry we can't have a HWID. Will you tag a few more drivers for exclusion in 2000. it seems we have topped out again with all the new drivers. i think you added a dozen or so so you will problaby need to remove close to the same amount to get under the memory limit of 2000. since he wont cough up the HWID just pick some at random.
newbie wants to tell us how to fix it but can't fix it himself and won't answer simple questions.
I'm installing on vmware and i have the same problem under win 2k.
2k3 and xp are ok.
Everyone who installs on windows 2000 with the latest mass storage pack will see this problem...
it is because there is a limit to the amount of ram that can be used to load drivers. 2000 allows for the least followed by XP then 2003 and finaly Vista allows for the most. we have yet to reach the limit for XP (yet).
the only work around is to select some of the drivers in the packs to not be loaded for windows 2000.
We will make the neccessary adjustment in the next pack.

hi
I hope you saw the topic about SiL 3112
S4 and S5 is being looked at.
I think all testers forgot to test in win 2000.
I will run some tests in VPC2007, and will get it under the memory load.
merry Xmass all
Thanks Jaak.
Merry Christmas sir!

Hi
It is hard to tell what footstamp the drivers have, but I made it so that a user can enable two (and maybe three) before the memory limit is reached.
I had a done a check at my home (260km from my work place) and I found some back ups of the mass storage driver. I have uploaded in windows live skydrive via http://cid-afe0590778dade55.skydrive.li … assStorage any body can download it without hassle. Since quite unlikely that somebody will install Windows 2000 on a new system older driverpack for the mass storage would be sufficient enough I suppose.
I am sorry my post may not be relevant to the topic but if offers some alternative suggestions. I still suggest every one to look forward with new drivers when ever they are released. Lets all work together to solve the issues. Happy new year.
thank you for the assist and the link -
yes it was relevant and helpful...
Jeff, there are drivers (original, by OEM and reference drivers too) what say that the user should edit the INF before it will work in 2000.
I think I will read all the INF files, and kill those (if they weren't already) for 2000.
AHCI mode drivers are probably never going to work in 2000.
Yesterday, I selected a few extra for 2000, and disabled txtmode load for them.
The criteria I just wrote about were those I used.
Just had a problem with the latest Packs from Nightlies.
Created a DVD and got a "HPCISSS2.sys is Missing" before the HD Format stage so no logs.
SIS 661 chipset, single drive (SATA)

2.8gz Intel 478 pin.

I just noticed you pulled "DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7128", that was the one I tried.
Leave me a reply if you have a new version so I can test
Thanks for all your work.
Hope this is in the right section !!!!
Thanks for the feedback!
was it a 2000 build? I am guessing...
My bad: It was XP Pro
Tried a release version of MASS and everything was OK. Sorry Jaak.

hi
the 7128 testversion had that HPCICCC2.sys issue.. and I pulled it.
I will have a 801 testpack ready soon..
That HP update must work.. it adds five SAS HWIDs for some HP proliant server.
