Realtek  drivers dont install on all p5k series motherboards
using the latest driverpacks
also some times the ati sound drivers dont install
everything else works great

the onboard in
p5kpl-vm is         ALC883 8-CH  (HD)SPDIF OUTALC883 8-CH(HD)SPDIF OUT
p5k        has       ADI AD1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio CODEC
is there maybe a third party driver that can install the sound on these mother boards?

hi

please try the following

get 7zip, and install it

rightclick and unpack sound A to folder
delete Alcxau.inf from D\S\R1
Then select both the INI and D folder, and rightclick
7zip the pack, and use a higher version name
(for instance, change 712 to 7121)
set to Max compression, and compact.

Then use this in combination with sound B.
If this works, tell us about it, and if it doesnt you should get the driver that works, and show us a link to it.
