i dont think these hwids are now nor were they previously included.

Yes I'm sure, i just couldn't remember which version of MassStorage. This unit (Asus P5VD2-X) been using this for about 2 years now.
I tried an old Unattended Installation and it detect the SATA Harddsik in textmode.

I've check my UAXP CD, the MassStorage is version 7.092, DP Chipset 7.101, DP CPU 7.401

since you have the packs that work you can proceed without waiting
just use the packs from the old cd to create a new uwxp cd
or just use the old cd.

I no longer have the base packs... i only have the slipstreamed version I wish someone could give me a link to MassStorage 7.092. Zyx_Maiden has uploaded in Megaupload which is useless for me because downloads slot for Philippines is always full, hoping someone could upload in Rapidshare.

But still hoping for the new MassStorage packs or nightlies release with drivers for my PC.

ah i assume from your post you used method 1 otherwise you could just copy it off the cd (in the OEM folder)...
look on my ftp site (link above) MassStorage 7.092 is right there for the grabbing

ther will be a new nightly with it but it may be tommorow or the next day but the old one can be had now...

I'm using Method Two, if you say, that I just can copy the MassStorage "DPM7092.7z" from OEM Directory and replace it to the OEM directory of new Unattended Setup that would be great for the time being while you work out the new nightlies/Pack --- GREAT!

But still I'm excited for the New MassStorage Pack/nightlies to be rollout. Kindly Post here if ever there's new rollout or testpack, I'll be willing to test it - including on the new PC arrive: Asrock ConRoe1333-D667 based Motherboard with Intel 945GC A2 Chipset (Intel ICH7).

ps the pack is unchanged except it has been renamed to be 8.2 compatable filename in OEM folder just have to  rename it back to original name to reuse it with base or copy it over as is to OEM in new cd.

One of my computer with Kobian (mercury) PVM4 motherboard is also experienced similar issues. Which is also nearly 2 years old one. When I tried install windows xp integrated sp3 it didn't detect the Hard Disk initially. I used the mass storage pack released on Dec 2007. I managed to solve it by changing the BIOS setting. BIOS is AMI (American Megatrends, Inc) v 02.59 . There is a setting  under features setup says Onboard SATA-IDE with options Disabled, IDE and RAID. The default setting was IDE which didn't work but once I changed to RAID it installed and working fine.

Hectorfx, will you please let me know the BIOS you are having which didn't regognise the hard disk and see if you can change the BIOS setting and how well it works or not.

It happened once lately BIOS (Phoenix-Award) didn't detect the harddisk but after restarting it detected fine with SATA Controller Mode set to IDE, I just tested to restart several times but still it detected the SATA Harddisk. I even tried to shutdown a few times with 5 minutes interval still the same it detected.

But I will try to test to set it to RAID and try to Install, if Text Mode Mass Storage will detect during Setup.

Although, there is available update for my BIOS but I don't want it to flash or rule out...

I greatly appreciate your input, I'll report back the results. Hang on....

many moons ago somebody requested we put the IDE mode driver in TXTmode.
(I vaguely recall this IDE mode driver (Vibus) was in the Pack, but not put in the INI so it would only be used for PnP.)


now, let's tell a story..
During november/early December, fourteen testpacks were looked at, and the release still had an issue with Sil 3112 but it got no feedback until weeks after the release.
An additional 8 testpacks were built.
(the 7128 I last built has not been uploaded yet, because I have other requests to look into)
That last one would use a technique we used before..
One can move INI sections around, see..
The INI sections make drivers load in TXTmode in the order they are in he INI.

I would like to find out if we really need that Via IDE mode driver in the INI.
I have moved [V] viaraid section below the three other VIA like ten seconds ago.

We would also like to get people savvy to some of these tricks.
Rigchtclick the pack, Un7zip to folder, open folder, then open the INI, move the [V] section below [V4], save INI.
Then select the INI and D folder, Rightclick and run 7zip to pack it up.
It will show the PACK's name, and you better give it higher version number (7121, if you had 712)

Then copy the edited pack in the folder you use for slipstreaming.
Then test the build you make with the edited pack.
(You  don't have to run full setup to see whether txtmode DETECTED the hard drive. When it detected the drive, you can bail out, or go ahead and do full setup.)

Full setup would tell you about PnP issues.
(if any... Some variants of Sil 3112 were/are causing a BSOD at different stages.. Depending on the mode this 3112 chip was set to, most likely.)

Now, if this edit you tried does not work, you could try again, with the [V4] section removed (vibus)
If you try one of those techniques, report back..

I will also compare VIA in 7902 with 712 release.

the Via drivers we have is newer than what Asus has in that link.

I found a new Jmicron reference driver, much newer than the asus download.
a 7128 tespack is in the making.
