Topic: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

"Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files from \$OEM$\$1\D\C\I\ to \$OEM$\$$\INF."

I have not modified any DP, using the latest chipset DP for use with the CP.

Almost impossible. Are you VERY sure you've put only the latest DriverPack Chipset in the DriverPacks directory? Which version does the UpdateChecker show?

6.05

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

Reproduced. Had both chipset packs in directory (the old renamed using new naming convention). I'm curious...could it be you renamed the old chipset pack with new name? Because there IS a new chipset pack released yesterday...

How many kb is your chipset pack?

The following sentence is false.

I used the latest DP downloaded straight from this forum, v6.05

Nevertheless, please verify by checking the filesize. It should be 688/689 KB, depending on the rounding.

Yep. 688KB

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

About the only things I could think of are

1) Corrupted pack
2) Corrupted\non-compatible \QSC\wnt5_x86-32_m1_DP_Chipset_605 directory
and possibly 3) Long directory names (with spaces) although it's very unlikely.

Try redownloading and erasing the above directory (if you're using Quickstream cache).

The following sentence is false.
The preceding sentence is true.

Yes, if you're using VERY deep paths, it may not be handled well.

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

I can see by your post in the bugtracker that you were using DriverPack Chipset 6.03.1 instead of 6.05. Please DELETE the old DriverPack Chipset! It will be detected instead of the newer one.

EDIT: doh that wasn't you, that was 'mkp'... Sorry. Here's the [ur=http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=37]link[/url] btw.

I get this: "Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files from \$OEM$\$1\D\C\I\ to \$OEM$\$$\INF."

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

You aren't using DriverPack Chipset 6.05, are you? You MUST update to the latest one.

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

I have just tried it with DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_605.7z---->same issue.
And my XPcd is new and clean...

EDIT

I removed DPs_BASE.log and DPs_BASE.ini, and now it slepstreamed  ok using metode 2.......

Same error when using metode 1.....

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

This is not necessary for method 2 and therefore you don't get that error when you use method 2.

Do you ALSO have DriverPack Chipset 6.03 in the DriverPacks directory? If so, that's the cause. Please delete it.

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

And you did NOT rename the old DriverPack Chipset to 6.05? Please check its filesize and report back.

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

That's ok... then I don't know what the problem is... Very strange! Tested here with DP Chipset 6.05, M1 and Windows XP SP2 and it's working just fine, as for at least several others. In 6.05 the error message is fixed, so it shows which subdirectory of D\C\I it's trying to use. It'll be easier to find the cause then.

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

Is this path a problem?  C:\Downloads\driver\DPs_BASE
Do I need Framework (dotnet11sp1.exe) ?

Hello ther',

I have the same problem, only with chipset drivers, no matter the length of the path :

http://xpcoccinelle.fredisland.net/images/temp/Critical.gif

So I took the resolution to ... not include theses drivers ! The other ones work...

Whatever, thanks to Bâshrat the Sneaky for his really good work ...

Re: [SOLVED BUG #84] M1: fails to copy the Intel .inf files to $OEM$

I get the exact same error.  I just downloaded the very latest of all packs today and tried it with method 1, no go.  Method 2 works just fine.  Any suggestions?  I've already tried everything else posted in the previous posts here.  :-\
