Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

Yesterday?I test one kind of driver on windows2003 ghost image, my array card model is?fasttrack tx2000,
I increased this driverpackage to win2003 ghost image ,and windows2003 boot success from tx2000.
so, i think this package can use win2003.

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

WE support windows 2000, windows xp, and windows 2003.

If you use any of the three above listed OS's then
the proper drivers for your OS will be used (if we have them)

IE if you choose a 2003 OS in the Base as your OS then only 2003 drivers will be used for the slipstream

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

I got a problem slipstreaming the latest MassStorage Driver pack on a Win2k3 OS. [DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_708.7z]

At the very first screen of Windows Setup.
It said "The file lsi_sas.sys could not be found. Press anykey to continue"

I'm trying to search for this file in my source folder but it doesn't exist. Please help.

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

lsi_sas.sys Is found twice in    DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_708.7z

I faced this kind of problems Before . and it is related to your CD/DVD Writer

I didnt burn my ISO on CD, I mapped it with VMWARE, so I don't think my CD/DVD writer is causing a problem.

True.

Have you verified the file is actually there in the ISO?
If so, please run an MD5 check between this file and the original (pre-ISO creation) to check it didn't get corrupted (could be due to defective RAM, HDD).

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

Hi,
I think I found the reason.
a fix is in the works.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

Hi!

I still get this problem with yesterday's DriverPacks (method 2, no QSC and KTD). I am going to investigate further, because I am installing now via LAN. The lsi_sas.sy_ nad lsi_sas2.sy_ files are in the i386 directory so I do not really understand.

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

Hi
please always use QSC..

ktd without QSC, equals bug?

Thanks, I am gonna try and post feedback. I was unaware of this (now I see that it's even in your signature, lol).

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

I wrote disks with and without QSC and Windows 2000 halted with this error. The file is there. The CAB is not damaged and compares exactly with the original. Anyone know why the Windows installer can't continue after getting this harmless error?

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

hi,

are you using mass storage DriverPacks version 7.09.1 ?

edit> sorry, I just read you used yesterday's DriverPacks, so you are.

I will have to make me a windows 2000 install disc, and try find the cause.
It's not too much work, and I must make this disc anyway, because I want to build a database with the natively supported files in it. smile

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

Oh yes, forgot that the problem comes with 2k ONLY. With XP there are no errors.
I am subscribed to this topic so I'll be one of the first to test if you have something new. ;-)

Re: this massstorage driver can use windows 2003?

Well, far as I know, the driver is for server 2000, and for server 2003.

At the moment, the driver is set to be skipped for XP.
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="wxp"
; ms_1_exc_replaceIfOS="w2k3" (the line is inactive, it is a comment, and can be deleted.)

I looked at windows 2000 source CD to see what it natively supports, and it does not need to be set to "replace".
I have to still look at non-DriverPacks-slipped server edition, but will do that shortly.

if you want to test this without skip line...
[D-2]
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="Dell SAS 5x (Windows Server 2003 32-bit)"
ms_1_tag="lsi_sas"
ms_1_sysFile="lsi_sas.sys"
ms_1_hwids="PCI\ bla bla hwids F091028"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false

(use 7zip to unpack, delete both skip and replace line in the INI section, and then use 7zip to 7zip the INI file plus D folder. It will want to use same name for the archive, so you should give the last number a higher number.).
Then copy the new mass storage archive to DriverPacks folder and test it.
