i checked the .ini included with DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7072 and a quick search i found that some Rocketraid were supported but not the 174x.
Can you supply a link to the driver?
NM - I found it http://www.highpoint-tech.com/BIOS_Driv … 2-0201.zip
Device Driver supports Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Win XP/2003 x64 Edition

@Jaak
I tried the your last test Pack - DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_708.7z
But , I got this Error at the beginning of textmode Setup

I've got the same problem. Im using perc4e during windows xp installion.
brb..
'7.08.1',
link is dead.. see later
another driver would use same drivername.sys, and was set to replace native driver in xp/2k3.
second driver had no HWID duplicates.
the File got renamed, and its INF edited to internally refer to new name.
earlier link is dead.

Oh, MRdellK3.SY_ was actually in the source when I ran that older one, so I had to look at other causes.

I hate this BB

added Compaq Smart Array 4200/4250ES/431/LC2 Controller at [C-3]
re-used a driver we once had in mass 7.06.7 at [P-2-A] to update promise 376/378 at [P-B] because the fresh downloads I used did not support a specific HWID, and the older pack actually had a newer driver for this.

I always C&P before I click "Submit", that way you can "restore" you post easily whenever you get that "Server too busy" message...
Besides, it's rather the server itself than the BB software, I guess...
Hi
as described in other posts...
Compaq driver for 2003 has an txtsetup.oem file intended for XP.
the 2000 driver did not have that.
(interestingly, the INF and SYS-tem file were exact matches, byte for byte)
The changes in the installer were in the XML files, in which I read about XP being what they added txtsetup.OEM for.
in 7.08.6 test version this txtsetup.oem file got added.
it ran a live test here..
I also wrote some helplines in a few INI sections.
(some drivers have been disabled for ages, and if a user would re-enable them what good would that do, because other driver would cause conflict if these other were left enabled.. So, I wrote the helplines.)

Notes, Promise 376/378
re-used a driver we once had in mass 7.06.7 at [P-2-A] to update promise 376/378 at [P-B] because the fresh downloads I used did not support a specific HWID, and the older pack actually had a newer driver for this.
notes, the Jmicron update 1.17.21 was a weird one.
It added HWIDS, but also dropped a whole range of default Jmicron.
The INF has been edited.
I added the "missing" HWIDS from the older into the newer.
those older HWIDS would be dropped.

I will want reports on those HWIDS, because if the new systemfile cannot support these older HWIDs, then a second driver must be added, and overlap should be filtered out.
chaz came up with yet a newer Jmicron
drops same hwids as the 1.17.21 would have done.
I am waiting for results on this testpack before I consider doing that one..

or would this be picked up by the highpoint 23* series.
Many thanks
Hi jms_8215
welcome to DriverPacks.
first of all, I will tell you guys this 7.08.6 test version you could read about here got finalised and was released.
@ jms_8215
I'll have to look at the HPT driver you link to and the 23* if I want to answer that.
The changelog/device list in overview page could tell you something?
