Topic: [SOLVED] Strange behavior with latest driverpack base 7.04

Hi everyone.

Before i start, i want to thank you for this little program that made our admin-lives so much easy big_smile

Now for the problem...

I've downloaded the latest version of DP base and im getting a strange behavior during slipstream.

I'm using the latest driver packs and DP BASE doesn't slipstream any driverpack.

The only thing it does is slipstream mass storage drivers and enable them on text mode.

I've tried only with a driverpack (Graphics A) and the process completes within 57 seconds !! (almost impossible lol)

Nothing else gets slipstreamed.

im posting the log for debug purposes:

I've always done the same thing with previous versions and always worked, now with the latest doesnt. I've searched everywhere and didn't see anyway complaining about this "bug".

I would appreciate your help smile

EDIT1: btw, i don't see any progress bar during the slipstream process.
EDIT2: I've tested with method 1. it seems to slipstream drivers without any problem. The problem is with method 2.

Re: [SOLVED] Strange behavior with latest driverpack base 7.04

57 seconds is perfectly normal (even slow) when using method 2 wink

With method 1, all DriverPacks have to be extracted (from their 7-zip archives) and then each file must be recompressed using CAB compression. Hence it takes a long time.
Method 2 however, is much less CPU intensive: it just copies the DriverPacks to your Windows installation files and they're extracted during setup.

And your ehm ... "problem" is a mistake of your own, I'm afraid wink From your log file:

2007-04-26 18:38:12 : <INIT> Start scanning for DriverPacks for the wnt5_x86-32 platform.
2007-04-26 18:38:12 : <INIT> Detected DriverPack Graphics A 7.04!
2007-04-26 18:38:12 : <INIT> Could not detect any 3rd party DriverPacks.
2007-04-26 18:38:12 : <INIT> Finished scanning.

As you can see, only DriverPack Graphics A was found! So how could it slipstream other DriverPacks? wink

Re: [SOLVED] Strange behavior with latest driverpack base 7.04

Sorry for not replying earlier.

Damn i'm such a noob lol

I didn't notice that the drivers are now slipstreamed in another way. I'm used to the "old style" (drivers are extracted in $OEM$ folder).

After a little research on the CD i found the drivers there on the folder OEM. I didn't notice before (stupid explorer.exe).

Thanks Bâshrat the Sneaky keep the good job big_smile

Re: [SOLVED] Strange behavior with latest driverpack base 7.04

I've tested and it really works!

Now i only need to get the DriverPacks to work within a network xp install from bartpe ($OEM$ folder is not being copied, need to search for that)
