Topic: [PROB] DELL D620 with Quadro NVS 110M doesn't automatically install

I noticed there was a similar issue with this earlier and was closed http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1195

However, the problem I am having on this same model Lattitude D620 with a Quadro NVS 110M is that the drivers are not installed automatically and I am prompted to search for drivers (XP does recognize it as a Quadro specifically though). Selecting to "search for drivers automatically" does indeed copy the driver files, but now my installation image is no longer "unattended", and the "D" directory remains after DPFinisher cleans up. Using DP Base 7.04 and Graphics A, B, and C 7.04

Interesting enough, NVidia's last *OFFICIAL* driver to support the Quadro NVS is ForceWare v84.26 found here after going through the driver selection menu for Quadro NVS http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.26.html *HOWEVER* Dell's website lists a newer Quadro NVS driver for the Lattitude D620, ForceWare v84.69

Hey

I just ran the DP 7.04 with DP7.04 GPU and I still get the BSOD on the D620 with NVIDIA.

My work around is to remove all the GPU DP's from the RIS image and as part of the RunOnceEx.cmd run a silent install of the driver from the CD Driver media supplied with the D620.

Would you want me to repost the HWIDS?

Ok I modified DP Graphics C to include Dell's specific driver for their quadro equiped models. Let me know if this fixed your BSOD (this solved my problem). I put the driver found here http://ftp.us.dell.com/video/R126608.EXE in a new folder called "6" in D\G\N\

It's a huge file, and rapidshare is the only place I know of so far that can accomidate for free. Open to other suggestions, the pack is >100MB

I managed to get the file in the end.

I've used this before http://yousendit.com they do for free 100MB and you email the recipient the link.

I've tried to make a testpack with support for these laptops using the method ruudboek used, but I may need a file from one of you.

before you look, I must say that the driver at dell has been updated.
CatalogFile = NVDM.CAT
DriverVer   = 04/28/2007, 6.14.11.0119

couple days ago, I read this, got to DELL's driver support, I got R157686.exe and when I uni-extracted it, nvucode.bin appeared to be still cabbed. (file I found was nvucode.bi_)

But, I still got around to edit nv4_go.inf to make it support these HWIDs that were not in there yet, and think it might work. (wanna keep the pack manageble by not adding 57Mb...)
However, the files-list mentions this nvucode.BIN..
I'd like it if one of you could install dell's newest, get that file off, and mail it to me.

if you are adventurous, you can try this file from rapidshare, where the only thing "fishy' is that nvucode.bi_ was simply renamed NVUCODE.BIN.
if you see that nvucode you got when installing the official release is different in size than what I have, then you could make a testpack with the good file and try it.

the edits in nv4_go.inf were more than simply adding HwIDs.. because not all instructions were same, so the sets for each were added.

this post had a link for testversion for  Dell latitude notebooks (when the 7.06 release will not install the driver.)

and, the version did not work.

jtdoom your link doesn't appear to be working.  Did you pull the file already?  I'm working with a D620 and having this problem so I'd like to give your fix a try.

Thanks for posting that fix Frogbert, my sysprep image now doesn't hang during detection on a Latitude D620 (Nvidia) now!
Also a thanks to skinlayers for his slightly different method for using sysprep and link to mysysprep which has made this image far better.

So has this issue been resolved with v7.09? I do not have a laptop to test this time around.
