Topic: Stop 7B - Misc drive pack (x64)

The miscellaneous driver pack does not have a forum, but since the STOP 7B is a storage error, I figured I'd list it in here.

I've discovered that the toshiba HDD protection drivers bundled in the Misc driver pack (x64) seem to cause a blue screen on several different computers.  I'm not sure who handles this, but if anyone could care to confirm, and possibly have them removed, that might be a good idea.

Re: Stop 7B - Misc drive pack (x64)

Does this occur with the NT5 driverpacks, as well?
Apologies if i am somewhat off-topic.

Re: Stop 7B - Misc drive pack (x64)

Thanks for that, indeed the driver is giving me 7B bluescreen either on Win7 x64. Been searching for this corrupt driver for days allready. How did you figure it out?

Re: Stop 7B - Misc drive pack (x64)

Is that thpdrv.inf which sadly uses the HWID of *?

Toshiba wrote:

[TOSHIBA.NTx86]
%thpdrv.DeviceDescNTx86%=Thpdrv,*

Would that be an example of an "omnigeneric" HWID?
Supergeneric's, eat your SHA1-signed heart out!

Jolly good show, Toshiba.     hmm

ROFL  B E A U tiful post TD!

Jaak will be rolling on the floor when he reads it.

Try using SAD to install your 3rd party DriverPack and the issue may / might disappear. (if you are not already)

Whoa!  How the h*ll did that get in there.
Nice find TD!

Re: Stop 7B - Misc drive pack (x64)

Oh!  Didn't know for certain that was in the x64 Misc pack.
Found it in tc30551700d.exe looking for NT5 stuff.

Tried to answer whether HDD Protection devices should have their own separate pack, for the SSD crowd to easily avoid.
Of course, that is entirely different topic...

The latest NT6 update is available here --> http://support.toshiba.com/support/view … Id=4004910, which is also available directly here.

  Beware all the "new" omnigenerics.

It looks like DPs_Fnshr-assisted installation could take it's cue from thpevm.inf via the HWID *TOS620A, so that installation of the full package is only attempted on Toshiba hardware, if agreed.

Re: Stop 7B - Misc drive pack (x64)

SAD3 would get the job accomplished for now, utilizing DPs_Fnshr post-Setup, would it not?  Perhaps this is something for another topic, though (concerning the various NT6 integration methods to be officially supported, which i'll need to brush up on).

Thanks to nicknomo & Quad, for reporting this.
