Topic: Drivers ,,, need help

HI.  I have been trying for weeks to get my bart pe build or my UBDCD to work.   It has been a network driver issue.   Once I boot from either cd build it is unable to install network drivers.  I have tried to take out all drivers from previous build and only add just the driver I need.  I have added all drivers from driver packs .net which by the way did not have my driver.  The laptops I need to reimage are the HP 6560b pro book... It has the 82579v driver.  which holds the following files....

E1c6232
E1c6232.din
E16232 .sys
E1cmsg.dll
NicCo36.dll
NicInstC.dll
ProUnstl
readme
readme

I even disabled the drivers pack plugins and only had the drivers / net folder to house either all the drivers or just he one I needed.  Still no luck.  I know that my builds work.  Because they work with other machines.

Oh.  by the way.,. Is there a way to add a drivers net pac of the lan drives pack I need and add this line as an extra plugin in the build  ????

Please I really need help !!!!!!  Any other information needed I will try to provide for you.. Thanks

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

You had posted this in the Win7 area.  Moving to BartPE section...

Please post a link to drivers that work.
Also post your HWIDs so we can confirm the fix.

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

definitely need the HWID.
If you tried disabling DriverPacks LAN and couldn't find the driver that will work in Drivers\Net (as a stand alone) then it is unlikely that we can fix it either.

I am assuming that these machines come preloaded with Win7?
try downloading the XP driver from here and if you find one that works report your HWID and the link to the driver that did work. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchR … x?lang=eng

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

Thanks for the replys.  Yes these machines are preloaded win 7.   When I get to work tomorrow I will post the HWID.  None of the drivers worked in my builds for these HP machines .. I don't think I tried them all. but maybe I should disable the driverPacks lan and try each and every driver individually.  Or what do you all think...

Thanks

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

So you're saying that you tried this HP driver and it didn't work?

We definitely need your HWIDs.

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

Here is the Hwids

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1503&SUBSYS_1619103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1503&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1503&CC_0200

Yes I tried the HP driver for the laptop and it didn't work.  I am stumped...

Thanks for all your replys..

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

Wouldn't that ID be included in Intel PROset 16.5 -- http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchR … amilyId=38 like OverFlow mentioned?

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

Hi.  The device ID that corresponds with the driver that I need which is located in the INF show it as follows which was taken off INtels PROset 16.5....

[Intel.NTx86.6.1.1]
; DisplayName                   Section              DeviceID
; -----------                   -------              --------
%E1502NC.DeviceDesc%            = E1502.6.1.1,       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1502
%E1502NC.DeviceDesc%            = E1502.6.1.1,       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1502&SUBSYS_00011179
%E1503NC.DeviceDesc%            = E1503.6.1.1,       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1503
%E1503NC.DeviceDesc%            = E1503.6.1.1,       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1503&SUBSYS_00011179

These last string of numbers are not the same as from the HWIDs I got off of my laptop.  Yet it says something in the INF decripton as 82759LM.

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

You could try the updated driver from HP here --> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te … amp;mode=5
or directly here --> ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53631.exe  it seems to have your HWID.

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

I tried this in my build just now and no go...  I noticed something when I am completely done.  I browsed to the I 386/drivers folder in the bart build once completeed and realized that the lan driver I need is not in there.  Is there something wrong with the way I copy the drivers in my build.  Just grasping at something to make sense of this.

Thanks again James

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

No, I know why it's not working.
Try this: http://www.mediafire.com/file/8b8uedh76dh25jh/XPx32.7z
It's not signed, but it should work.

Your HWID is supported for 2003 server, but not XP.  I modded the .inf to directly support your HWID under XP.
Once you confirm it works, I'll mod the newer driver in the DriverPack LAN currently in our underground testing bunker. wink

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

I tried this and I have a few questions.  I copied the files you created in the above post.  I must be doing something wrong with the build.  I disabled the driverspack lan and added the above files to the old xp folder and it replaced the drivers in that folder which  is the drivers / net folder I also did it the other way around and deleted all in the drivers/net folder and put the created folder in the drivers pack lan and re enabled the plugin.  I am sorry but I must be doing something wrong ... Where should I place these files ??? I have done so many things that I might start all over with a brand new build   any thoughts on helping ....  Thank you so much for your replys and work on this.

James.    Maybe I should just put in the INF you just created and delete the old one !!!!!!!

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

you should be able to disable DriverPacks lan and add the driver files in <UBCD4Win or BartPE path>\drivers\Net\put files here

The path "drivers\Net\" is key. you can put any folder name you like as a sub-folder of \Net\

IE
C:\BartPE\drivers\Net\Realtek\real.inf
C:\BartPE\drivers\Net\Realtek\real.sys
C:\BartPE\drivers\Net\Intel\intel.inf
C:\BartPE\drivers\Net\Intel\intel.sys

see instructions here

http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/help/english/drivers.htm

your pebuilder log  should confirm a file copy... and should be error and warning free at the end of the build

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

HI. Mr_Smartepants.   You deserve a hugh thanks for your help.  It worked.  I completely started from scratch and didn't even add the DriversPack lan to my build and focused only on the Drivers\lan .. folder.   Made sure that your modified INF was in and omitted the original INF and it worked. I don't know if it was a combination of started from scratch or omitting the original INF but it was successfull ...  For those of you who need help with Bart Pe builds please take the advise given on this forum and from Mr_Smartepants.  Thank you very much....

James

Re: Drivers ,,, need help

Glad it worked for you.  This fix will make it into the next major release of DriverPack LAN
