Topic: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

This pack do not install my Audigy 2 ZS and second card SoundMAX. Maybe the second card is in the other pack but it did not work too.

please read "Read BEFORE you post" link in my signature.
The minimum details required to support you are listed.

IE
What OS were you installing to?
Slipstream or SAD?
Was the sound b pack included... what version?

do you have the pertinent section of the setupapi.log? (include in your post in "code tags")

etc... you know... details wink
We like those a lot big_smile

give us a little more to go on and we will be glad to help smile

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

I had lost these files.
I rebuild the installation with new nightlies.
OS is x86 - XP SP3 PL with some Hotfixes. Dotnet 3.5, 3, and 2 is integrated.
After main installation of XP, when it install driver, software etc. is going to reboot as usual. After restart, when OS starts it shows BSOD and reboots itself. I can not see what BSOD is.
I have been searching for DPsFnshr.log but it have not reproduced yet.

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

BASE 8.12.5 is newer than 9.02.0.1...
9.02.0.1 was an experiment in SysPrep that was abandoned... I should probably just delete it.

8.12.5 = fifth update to to 8.12 code
9.02.0.1 = Alpha / Beta - not released to public, not ever updated (.1), only supported for testing team (before it was abandoned).

BASE 8.12.5 was updated in June (making it technically 9.06.00 BUT since the upates were quite minor i elected to make 8.12.4 ~ 8.12.5 instead of a full revision#)

If you are not SPECIFICALY doing SYSPREP then don't even fool with 9.02
It has known bugs, and it's missing updates, that were only fixed in the 8.12.x series / branches of the code.

Again, the 9.02.0.1 (an attempt at sysprep) was abandoned...
mostly because Galapos Offline SysPrep works flawlessly.
No sense in reinventing the wheel wink.

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

You have a lot of patient with these logs, you analysed them all. That's very kind of you.
I will change the base.

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

do me a favor please... Try it also without the 3rd party DriverPack s except language and Physx... TIA

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

Before I  read your post, I had integrated DriverPack on new programme base. In the same moment of installation I received BSOD.
I tired once again, but without graphic packs, WLAN and some 3rd.
It helped! Both of my sound card are properly installed.

My intuition tells my that the graphic packs make BSOD during my OS installation.

The list of pack which were not used:

3rd:
DP_Graphics_Languages_wnt5_x86-32_911rc10
DP_Graphics_PhysX_wnt5_x86-32_911rc10
DP_Misc_wnt5_x86-32_90909
DP_Phone_wnt5_x86-32_80207
DP_TV_wnt5_x86-32_90812
DP_WebCam_wnt5_x86-32_90904

Main:
DP_CPU_wnt5_x86-32_9090rc1
DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_91101
DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_911rc10
DP_Graphics_B_wnt5_x86-32_911rc10
DP_Graphics_C_wnt5_x86-32_911rc10

So, some of used 3rd do not make troubles.

Is it still important for you to make the install without all 3rd?

Maybe it would be better to use all 3rd I had used but without physx and lang and all main pack but without graphic?

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

The search path used to find drivers is stored as a registry entry.
Unfortunately the path length (with all main and all 3rd party DriverPack) has reached the limit of a single registry entry in Win XP. (approximately 1 MB)

The work around is not to include too many packs at once, All of the main packs and a handful of 3rd party DriverPack works.
If you attempt to include them all you will exceed the 1 MB limit.

I have been trying to get everyone who contributes to be aware of this... Especially in the 3rd party DriverPack.

Many of the 3rd party DriverPack have huge path structures delete one or two packs of your choice and BAM it's fixed...
I would get rid of 3rd party DriverPack, not a main pack like graphics wink

One fix has been to use SAD to install the Third Party DriverPacks from guirunonce or runonceex.

thanks for reporting and welcome to DriverPacks!

Re: [BUG] Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_911b1

I forgot to write, there was one small bug.
During installation OS demand to chose language version of a3d.dll.

It sounds like that (it is not quotation):

Replace or not
e:\d\a\cr3\Common\i386\a3d.dll
with existing element
e:\Windows\system32\a3d.dll

Existing English (Great Britain) with English (USD)?

Wow, that's odd.  What language XP source are you using?
