Is there something that can be done to prevent the installation of Silicon Image's resident control panel applet on machines that do not have any SI hardware? This is an issue that has been around since the old XP DP's too, so I'm not intending to single out this version.

Hmmm, any idea where it's coming from? I'll have to dig around.
Strange, in my new Vertex2 SSD Win7-64 install there's not a trace of any silicon-image control panel.

REQ: Dell PE830 RAID Drivers, its an Adaptec CERC Controller.
Using DP_MassStorage_wnt6-x64_1201r1 with DP_Chipset_wnt6-x64_1201r1
Server 2008 R2 standard with SP1 D/l from Microsoft vanilla
using RT Server Customizer 2.6.0, adding drivers and MS updates to 2/12/2012
On bootup of the boot thumbdrive, I dont see the HDD (Raid1).
If I manually add drivers from Dell it works, I'm making a unattended install thumbdrive.
From Dell Im manually adding:

I'm sure some of these are already included, The DELL CERC does not work with the latest Driverpack, I'm not sure about the rest. I figured i'd cover all the servers I would be working on. I have a PE830 which uses the Dell CERC SATA available for testing. The rest I have only clients servers to test on.

I`ve found some strange thing with DP_MassStorage_wnt6-x64_1208. Windows 7 x64 does not find any disks with all the drivers integrated to boot.wim and install.wim, but when i downloaded Intel RAID Driver 11.1.0.1006 (it is here http://depositfiles.com/files/9mi0yporm) everything worked as a charm. May be the problem is out of date drivers version in 1208?
Tested on Toshiba Sattelite U840 Series. ASUS UX31A works great! Very strange...
