Topic: [BUG?][8.09.rc1] Driverpacks Finisher - AutoIt Error

Edit: It's possible the below problem may have been caused by running out of diskspace... however, windows didn't give any error message about low on disk space. I only just noticed that the oemdiskextend thing from sysprep didn't work, but I'd already cleaned up driverpacks so I don't know if this is the cause. I guess I'll have to wait till next time I build a PC to verify this...

Original post: I'm using version 8.09.rc1 of the driverpacks, with the 'stand alone driver disk' option. I compiled the driverpacks, and copied the output to the new PC, and ran DP_Install_Tool.cmd. It seemed to go OK for awhile (except I had to manually close some device manager windows which came up), then an error popped up:

AutoIt Error
Line -1:
Error: Unable to execute the external program.
The system cannot find the file specified.

Here are my logs:

http://members.optusnet.com.au/bombasti … sFnshr.log

Also, the Audigy driver didn't work, it had a yellow exclamation mark in the device manager, I think the error was the driver not present error. And at the end of DPsFnshr.log, Audigy.exe is there, so perhaps this is tied to the AutoIt error...

When windows booted up, I got an error about Rundll32.exe and nvcpl.dll, then when I shutdown, I got an error about ALCMTR.exe. I suppose these problems are tied with the finisher not ... finishing?

Please help smile

Re: [BUG?][8.09.rc1] Driverpacks Finisher - AutoIt Error

it does seem like %DPSROOT%\D\S\CR1\Audigy.exe was not found.

this file does exist in sounda 8.05 \D\S\CR1.

it is likely you ran out of disk space or have coruption of the pack or had a glitch during extraction.

if you are able to repeat this please let us know

have a great day!

PS Awsome details and Title for a first Post. You obviously read before you posted. Well done!

PSS i agree with your finding that a mess was left behind when the finisher did not ... um ... finish finishing. wink
