Topic: MultiBoot Problem

I've got this strange problem when builting ONE machine using a Multiboot build DVD, It changes the default source location.

It should be <DVD>:\SETUP\XP\Pro3\i386 but at T-39 it starts look for <DVD>:\i386.

I have used the Multiboot build DVD on many machines (VM and physical) without problems, but on the Gigabyle GA-X38-DS5 motherboard this painful problem occurs.

I was wondering if its possible that a Driver could be the cause of the problem?

I will test a few things to look for the root cause, but as this is my main rig, I dont like rebuilding it to often.

As a workaround to get the machine built, I copied <DVD>:\SETUP\XP\Pro3\i386 to <DVD>:\i386. wink

Any thoughts are welcome smile

Cheers
7yler

Note to myself: Dont build uber machines configured to the hilt, because they cause nothing but pain ... But when working, how NICE big_smile

Re: MultiBoot Problem

wow gigabyte with intel and a 8600GTS

that is very nice hardware sir...
GigaByte MBs are rock solid and GB is pleasant to deal with if the need arises.

my guess is fake setup may be the cause of this issue.
IDK why it only shows up on your rig though...
have you tried reseting BIOS settings to default (or clear CMOS jumper)
they allow you to tweak almost everything in the bios
some user settings can adversely affect your experience.
some of which you have to hit ctrl f1 to even view...

Re: MultiBoot Problem

Off Topic, too...
We're dealing with drivers here, not Windows addons.
