Re: [REL] DP_Modem_wnt5_x86-32_1005

I have some problems with v10.01.01
if i include in my "3rd party DriverPacks" folder i have no driver installed at all! Like if i have not slipstreamead video, lan, chipset drivers...
right after i delete v10.01.01, everyting becomes ok!

Also do the ZTE drivers in JoinMe belong in DP Modem or DP Phone as they are to use the phone as a modem

Re: [REL] DP_Modem_wnt5_x86-32_1005

Tough question.
Does the phone need seperate drivers to be reckognized by the system and therefore for the modem drivers to even work?
If so, the case is clear, phone drivers to phone and the phone-as-a-modem drivers to modem.
If it's both in one package, you may want to toss a dime or something wink
Doesn't really matter, I'd say, as long as you don't duplicate them.

I found an error in your latest pack when installing modem card.

In the device manager manually pointing the path to the drivers,
files are copied, restart request .... the same mistake again

I am beginning to suspect hardware failure hmm

Re: [REL] DP_Modem_wnt5_x86-32_1005

Well, those Motorola SM56 drivers caused me problems before, that's why the .inf has a HWID commented out to prevent using those drivers on my system.
I'll take a look.  But if no drivers work (even the OEM manufacturer ones), then hardware failure is possible.

An updated driver is found here: ftp://ftp.acer-euro.com/desktop/AP-M36/ … o-Nets.zip
Please try this one and report back.

Re: [REL] DP_Modem_wnt5_x86-32_1005

Way back in November when I was struggling with the A860 I updated the modem pack and have kept updating it even through 10.3 for:

A860 HWID:

============
HDA Audio
============
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_1028029A&REV_1000\4&36D388F1&0&0001: Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus
HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_1028029A&REV_1000\4&36D388F1&0&0002: Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus
2 matching device(s) found.

v10.04 COMPSTUFF
ADDED
D\3\M\C\24
Added Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP DriverVer=06/03/2008, 7.74.00.50
VEN_14F1&DEV_5051 (Dell a860)

v10.03
Agressively Streamlined folders, deleted all extraneous files (setup.exe, disk1, etc.).
-A\31 Fixed missing .inf
-ZT\  Added ZTE drivers.

----------------------------------------------

I just searched 1005 and still don't see the matching subsys so should I continue to add another folder under C or am I going about this wrong... let me know and I will add this to the test on the laptop next week and if it works we can update the pack

You got it right.  Go ahead and add it then make the version number 10051b1.
You know, instead of keeping those personal mods to yourself, you could pass them upstream to us. wink
Good job!

Sorry about that... I'm only now getting more comfortable with my work on the packs and that was one of those issues that kicked my butt for awhile... either way I will smack myself right after I have some coffee wink
