Topic: [Solved] Unable to select downloaded driverpacks in DPs_7052

Downloaded and extracted DPs_7052.
Downloaded selected driverpacks to Driverpacks folder.
Tree in left column does not show same choices as tutorial.
Able to select destination folder, and 'disk' radio button.
No page/choices for settings (except for import).
Driverpacks page shows downloaded driverpacks in bold with others greyed out.
Update check seems to work. (Green message)
NO boxes for selection of individual driverpacks.
NO box labeled 'Select All'.
NO options except for 'slipstream', forward/back arrows, 'exit'.
Next page is donation request.
End of story.

I've downloaded and extracted three times, to different folders. No joy.

All I see in the log that might be a problem is two messages 'No OS could be detected'.

Does this need to be installed on 'C:' drive?

hi
you have to hit the browse button and show it where the copy of your source CD is.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: [Solved] Unable to select downloaded driverpacks in DPs_7052

Yes, and DON'T select the i386 folder itself, select the folder that CONTAINS the i386 folder.
It might help to remove any funky characters in the folder name.

if you have selected a valid location the "OS:"
will change from "N/A" to the OS that was detected in that folder...

Re: [Solved] Unable to select downloaded driverpacks in DPs_7052

All work wells now. I had chosen the i386 folder instead of the main folder.

Thanks for the quick response.

Next question...

I am a little confused about the steps to take to add these driverpacks within the 'advanced' function of the ryanVM Integrator. The instructions I found say it is 'easy', but being totally new to this process, these instructions seem minimal. Is there a detailed instruction for the inclusion of driverpacks?

My immediate needs are to perform a non-format repair of Windows. It was recommended that an updated 'slipstreamed' disc be used. It seems logical to include drivers as well as IE7. Most instructions are written with the assumption that the user is very experienced at coding and scripting, and not for one who knows just enough to be dangerous. Advice desperately needed.

I do wish to build a 'fully-loaded' disc for the next disaster recovery, and figured to try for it all now. If I should proceed in steps, that's fine. Repairing the installation is first priority.

Re: [Solved] Unable to select downloaded driverpacks in DPs_7052

All is working. I ran the driverpacks as a separate process, rather than trying to do an unattended build. Baby steps still get you there. My workstation is now running like it should.

Thanks for the support. Great site you have here. I even found out about the oembios files I needed for my disk. Donation on its way.
