I create a "method 1" and receive a error
Critical error: Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files from \$OEM$\$1\D\C\I\xp\ to \$OEM$\$$\INF.
If the "method 2" that all normally is used
WHY?

turn on quick stream cache (QSC) and retry (it was off when you ran this)

Has included QSC and has repeated, at integration there is a error:
Failed to CAB compress \D\M\3\1\3wareDrv.sys to U:\driverpacks.net\QSC\wnt5_x86-32_uni_DP_MassStorage_7092_textmode\3WARE95K.SY_.

Have you considered a problem with source file?  Sometimes if your source file is corrupted in some way (if there are hickups in the download stream) you can't cab compress.

Try re-downloading the chipset and/or mass storage driver packs.  The first issue you reported mentioned the chipset driver packs (Could not copy Intel Chipset drivers' .inf files), and the new issue you've just mentioned says mass storage (\D\M\3).

how much free space is on your disks? you will need 3 GB or more

temp file for extracted driverpacks 1.2     gb
Total                                            2.1     gb

destination folder                             600 mb
Grand Total                                  2.7     gb


Is U: a mapped network drive?

I dunno..
I do know QSC OFF is bad.

The special characters like [white meat] (which includes a space as well), could throw this off.

call me a stick-to-DOS geek perhaps, but I like to keep special characters out of foldernames, and most often still stick to 8.3 convention.

The answer was 42?
