Topic: [reopened]request or bug?

after installation of my windows I got this:

seems like it didnt fully install, and coudent find a log file about it, so thats why I post with bug or request:)
cause I'm not sure if its a bug and if its not a bug I wuld like to request it:)
this is what I see after I installed the coreckt driver:

its an onboard sound card, from asus p5b-e (http://support.asus.com/download/downlo … mapindex=2)

as I said didnt got a log, but I wil do a reinstall today or tomorow just to get the log file!

For some reason the HDA hotfix seems to be missing.
You need that one before you can even install the real drivers for your SC.

The driver setup is probabaly applying that hotfix prior to the driver installation, so it works then.

Are you using any Windows update packs before (hopefully not after!) BASE?

The log is in your C:\Windows directory, no longer at C:\. This was changed a couple of months ago.

btw installed again with the latest base/driverpacks and nothing has been changed.

and yes I am using an updatepack from meulc:)
but I do the updates first and then the base thingie:)

The log shows the HDA hot fix was not installed by base because it was applied by the meulc update.

try it without the Meulc updates and then report back.

I have created a new topic cause my old one was solved and closed, only the problem was not solved:P
just didnt had time to install the way OverFlow  said.

but this time I installed without meulc updates like OverFlow said, and this is the result:

guessing this means that there isent a driver in the pack for my soundcard?

I have used the lastest driverpack sound:) (7.07 (1 July 07) )

but as I understand is that dp base wil slipstream the update.
dp base wont install it if meulc updatepack is detected.
but I did NOT use meulc updatepack or any onther update pack.

so someone plz explain it.....

cant use QSC sad

it only can use QSC if I integrate masstorage driver pack.

but there is a bug in the driver/pack that causes a verry strange bsod

made a topic about it here
and yes I did try it with QSC enabled, but stil got the same thing posted in the other topic.

so any other sugestions?

btw isent QSC only for masstorage?
cause when it creates the map I only see the masstorage part.

Problem was solved, with the help of muiz!:)
created a cd from scratch with muiz (on msn) with meulc pack and stuf and it worked!!!!!!

Yes, QSC is only for the DPMS, because only there, the drivers need to get some special treatment (and only if you use Text Mode, I believe).
All the other DriverPacks are simply shortened in name and copied onto your source, at least if you use M2.
