Dear all,
I'm using Ris 2003 on Windows Standard Server 2003 and using M2. After the reboot \ when you enter GUI mode this error message appears - later the finisher.exe is not found, so no drivers are unpacked or installed. I looked up the original DPSFNSHR.7z and both the files are in it. DPsFnshr.7z is copied to c:\$win_nt$.~ls\OEM\bin. Any hints on this?

Does DPsFnshr.7z get extracted to %SystemDRive% properly?
No - it's copied to c:\$win_nt$.~ls\OEM\bin, but not extracted. Please help, master
How did you slipstream the DriverPacks?
What do you mean? All the work is done by DPsBase.exe. Its in a folder beside my 'image' and points to ..\reminst\setup\images\english\$myRISsetupfolder. Is that correct? Otherwise it wouldn't slipstream at all. i think

That's not the log of your slipstream... Please slipstream the DriverPacks again into your RIS files and post that log file.

Isnt this just the same log you posted as in your first post?

dhomolka: apologies, it was a log of your slipstream, only it seems so short at first sight...
In a RIS installation, you should either use method 1 OR use method 2 with some custom scripting: normally presetup.cmd, which is ran before the real setup.exe is ran, will extract DPsFnshr.7z, but since you're using RIS, this won't be executed... Just make sure DPsFnshr.7z gets extracted to %SystemDrive% AND DPsFnshr.ini gets copied to %SystemDrive% before DPsFnshr.exe gets called. Both files are in the OEM directory (NOT $OEM$!) of your RIS installation files.
I'd strongly advice you to use RogueSpear's superb AutoImage. You can use that to slipstream the DriverPacks into RIS installation files. See this part of the AutoImage tutorial on his forums to find out how to use the DriverPacks and the DriverPacks BASE with his program.
Hm - always used M1 without problems. Since OemPnpDriversPath is getting to long and I´m on a new system, I wanted to take a try on M2. Why are the necessary files aren't copied? Please help me understand this method so I can fix the problem.
You know files are copied to a crappy folder c:\$win_nt$.~ls\OEM\bin and left unextracted.

with a method 2 slipped source, the files in oem/bin are used during setup.
This is what Bâshrat the Sneaky is saying, if you want to use method 2, you would have have to manually edit some scripting files..
Bâshrat the Sneaky also advises to use autoimage. This could take a lot of work out of your hands..

See this FAQ.
Method 2 was designed for media-based (CD/DVD) installations, not for RIS installations. That's why it doesn't work nicely with RIS by default. AutoImage solves that problem. It's donationware, so just give it a try

You should contact the AutoImage developer (RogueSpear) for that, or check the AutoImage documentation, I don't know how he works around the presetup.cmd requirement when using RIS.
i get this error when using Bâshrat the Sneaky with autoimage but it only occurs when my image is installed to Dell GX620's. any other dell unit seems ok.

its not the chipset issue. im using the older pack. i have posts on that thread.
proble is solved now although im now getting this ati.dll window apear during the Bâshrat the Sneaky finisher..
Please tell me how you fixed it.
