Basically you need to extract the Intel drivers (rather than using the Dell version) and then unfortunately you need to edit the inf files .... but it does then work

I'm having issues with the above device, I'm trying to load a driver for BartPE.
The HWID log for the device is:

14/11/2012 19:07 83,808 NicInstC.dllI then found WinPE3 drivers on the Dell site (Bart is WinPE2) and they also load OK during the Bart build, but the driver is not loaded either.
I then tried to test the drivers using
drvload.exewhich I found in the Vista version of WAIK. But that version of drvload is not compatible with Bart. So at the moment I'm stuck.
The behaviour is specific to the Broadcom NetExtreme II driver. The driver works with both XP and W2K3, but when building with XP-SP2 the driver will configure as static or DHCP as specified in penetcfg. However when building with W2K3-SP1 the configuration defaults to DHCP regardless.
I will see whether I can work around this by performing a regshot and then running a batch file at startup.

The only problem that I have now is that since switching to W2K3, the networking is configured as DHCP even though I am specifying static. Hopefully this will be a known issue too.
I resolved the issue with W2K3 and Bart now loads the R194052 driver and I can see the drives attached to the controller. Which is obviously good.
At this early stage it looks like all my plugins are still working too, which is a big plus.
However when I add the driverpack, Bart fails to start, reporting a corrupt driver QL2300.sys
I tried removing that file from the DriverPack plug-in, and all references to the file in the INF. But after rebuilding Bart it then complains that it is unable to load the file QL2300.sys
I spent a fair bit of time trying to figure this out, and for the moment I am stumped. I even removed references to QL2300.sys from the following files but it did not resolve the error

I am going to be delayed. Bart hangs at please wait. I had a feeling that such a significant change was likely to introduce issues, I also wonder whether any of my plugins are going to be affected by this change.
In any event, one of the suggested actions is to try ntdetect.com from SP2. I don't have SP2 to hand at the moment.
W2K3 install works with R194052. Can see the single disks. So it's not an array configuration issue, it's a driver issue.
At the BIOS level the controller is reported as SAS1068E-IR, which would suggest that the earlier SAS driver that you recommended ought to work, provided Dell don't have a "custom" version of the controller.
This is a PITA.
I think I will try building Bart with W2K3 instead of XP and try to use the R194052 driver instead.

Yes, I had that idea as well. Dell use this driver on the Precision range.
Unfortunately it does not work either.
I am going to perform a Server 2003 install to verify that the drives are visible when the array is not configured as either striped or mirrored. This is the case with the T300 but I want to confirm that this is also the case with the T310

Tomorrow I will provide the HWID from the T300 which works and from the T310 which does not.
PS did you try removing DriverPacks mass storage and adding your driver manually and then rebuilding with PEBuilder?
No, but I did try adding the driver from R194052, but it doesn't load - probably because it is a W2K3 driver and I am using an XP based build.

An old thread, but I am having the same issue with a Dell T310 and SAS6iR controller.
I have a Bart build using MassStorage pack: DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_907r2.7z
This build works with a Dell T300, that uses the SAS6iR controller.
The same Bart build loads on a T310 without any mass storage error (there is an error relating to NIC drivers) but no disks connected to the SAS controller are visible.
Having looked for drivers on Dell Support. R194052 is the Dell driver for both the T300 and the T310.
So Dell use the same driver for W2K3 for the SAS controller in these two systems, but the DP_MassStorage pack only works with the T300?
Suggestions?
I can post a HWIDs dump tomorrow if that would help

IE &CC_0101 and &CC_0101 - Indicates the mode the Hardware is in...
Yes, I thought as much. But with an earlier version of the DriverPack it previously did not matter which mode the Hardware was in.

Some further information.
I removed all references to mv61xx.sy_ in the INF as I am keen to get a Bart build working that can access the volumes on a computer.
After removing the references to mv61xx.sy Bart was able to load, and on a computer that I had ready access to and was using for testing I was able to access the volumes. At this point I assumed that the issue was resolved.
I have a number of systems using the S3000AH mbd.
I then went back to the original computer (same mbd) and tried the key. On this computer I still cannot access the volumes. I tested another computer at the same location and same issue, so there obviously is some subtle difference in the configuration of some of these systems.
Anyway the earlier HWID list was from the computer where I can see the volumes.

I have run the HWID tool from a BartPE build using the 9.01 DriverPack, as it will load, but of course cannot see the volumes. I hope that this does not invalidate the results.

Hi,
My Bart builds used to be able to see volumes on disks attached to an Intel Matrix Storage Controller on an S3000AH motherboard. A couple of months ago I updated to MassStorage 9.01 and I am wondering if this is when I broke this access.
I understand that there is a later version of the MassStorage pack in testing and I was wondering if I might be able to obtain a copy to test?
