Sorry, my bad.
I just checked for the L\At folder and saw it was missing. The whole L folder was only 28 meg in size, so I figure the folder for the Realtek NIC must have been missing as well.
I reran DP_Base after cleaning the QSC Cache (which had grown to enormous size) and lo and behold the L folder came out being 36 megs in size with all the missing folders present.
Whatever went wrong and crippled my L folder didn't happen again.
Sorry to have bothered you. I promise to check that first next time 8)
Thanks for the effort. Have a nice day.

Hi there,

long time no post :-)

I think I found a bug in DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_1109.
No suitable driver was found for AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit and Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Ethernet Controllers.
I don't have access to the machine with the Realtek card at the moment, but i can provide the HWID for the Atheros NIC:

PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_1063&SUBSYS_83FE1043&REV_C0\4&38D2602C&0&00E1: Atheros AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller

As soon as i can get my hands on the machine with the Realtek NIC i will post the HWID as well.
Boths NICs worked fine with DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_1101.
Hope you can help. Thanks for your efforts.

Yepp, this is the exact driver I used. Made a floppy from it and tried to add it with the F6 method.
The driver seemed to be recognized correctly, no error messages or such.
But when BartPe finished loading the controller still was not found.

OverFlow wrote:

Be sure to use a BartPE disc with no drivers added for the f6 testing, since any existing / added drivers may conflict wink.

Yepp, I did just that. But the controller was not found anyway.

But thanks for pointing it out, it makes much sense.

Have a great day

See, that is what I meant by overlooking the obvious... Thanks for the hint.
The driver does not work, even when using the F6 method. It appears to be loading correctly from the disk, but the controller is not detected at all.
So any attempt to add it in MassStorage.inf had to fail.
Unfortunately I did not have a chance to test the driver in XP / 2003 Server. I guess it would be working for those, so it might still be a good idea to add the hwid in the next release.
Just wouldn't work for BartPE then.

Hello there.
I'm having a bit of trouble with this controller in BartPE.

This is the little bugger:
http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA/rr3560.htm

Link to driver:
http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA/bios_rr3560.htm

HWID:
VEN_1103&DEV_3560&SUBSYS_00001103&REV_09

Driverpack Versions:
Driverpack Base 8.12.5
Driverpack MassStorage 9.01

This is what I did so far:
   - Slipstreamed the current DP_MassStorage Pack to my BartPE disc using DP_Base 8.12.5.
   - Checked if the HWID was present in plugin\Driverpacks.net\MassStorage.inf, but couldn't find it
   - Added the following entry to the [SetValue] section: "txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_1103&DEV_3560", """hptiop""" hoping that the controller would be recognized by the existing HPTIOP.SY_ -> didn't work
   - Next I tried it with the full HWID like this: "txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_1103&DEV_3560&SUBSYS_00001103&REV_09", """hptiop""" -> still no go
   - Then I figured I might try the HPTIOP.SYS that came with the driver I downloaded, so I deleted the former entries and added the following:
      - "txtsetup.sif","SCSI.Load","hptiopx", "hptiop.SYS,4"
      - "txtsetup.sif","SCSI","hptiopx", """HighPoint RocketRAID 3xxx/4xxx"""
      - "txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_1103&DEV_3560", """hptiopx"""
      - "txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_1103&DEV_3560&SUBSYS_00001103&REV_09", """hptiopx"""
   - I then went on and added hptiop.sys to the plugin\Driverpacks.net\MassStorage\wnt5 folder -> no luck

What am I doing wrong? I'm sorry to bug you with this, I would have loved to implement this driver myself (and post the result here of course).
Maybe you can point me in the right direction, since I guess I'm plainly overlooking the obvious...
BTW It would be great to have access to a complete documentation of this project, since it's OpenSource, so one could read up on how the Driverpacks do their magic.
I'm trying to figure that out by trial and error an puzzling together the bits and pieces I picked up on the forums.
Thanks in advance and have a great day :-)

is anbody who is not on the testing team interested in testing the new SysPrep Platform?
I added support in the unreleased (publicly) alpha version, but, if anyone is interested... wink

*raises hand*
I'd love to have a look at this
Cheers

Dudes it's hard describe just how much you rock :-)
I'm gonna testride this baby with the sysprep method described here (minus the mass-storage packs): http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1682
I have this method up and running with the old DriverPack BASE 7.04. Couldn't get it to work with 8.04 though.
Hope it will work with the new pack. I wrote a few handy batch files that automate the procedure. If you are interested I could share them.
Thanks for adding the DPsRootDel  = "false"  option. This is just what I needed.
Keep up the good work!

Wow, you guys never cease to amaze me.
Thanks for the info this sure helps a lot.
I gave it a quick and dirty try myself before reading your info.
I copied FTT3.sys from the i386 folder of the extracted drivers dir to PeBuilder\plugin\DriverPacks.net\MassStorage\wxp
Then I added the following lines in PeBuilder\plugin\DriverPacks.net\MassStorage.inf:

[SetValue.2600]
"txtsetup.sif","SourceDisksFiles","FTT3.SYS", "1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4"
"txtsetup.sif","SCSI.Load","FTT3", "FTT3.SYS,4"
"txtsetup.sif","SCSI","FTT3", """PROMISE FASTTRACK TX4650"""
"txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3F20", """FTT3"""

Then I rebuild the BartPE disk and lo and behold it works.
I tried compressing the .sys file using makecab but this crashed my BartPE during startup (spontaneous reboot).
Guess I still have a long way to go and have some reading to do.

Hi folks
No luck with this controller and my WinXP-based BartPE disk.
The model is Promise FastTrak TX4650.
HWID: PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3F20&SUBSYS_3F22105A&REV_00\4&293AFFCC&0&00E0
Driverpack used: DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_8021
Link to driver: http://www.promise.com/support/download … &go=GO
The HWID is nowhere to be found in MassStorage.inf, so I guess I found a new driver for the pack :-)
Thanks in advance.

P.S: Maybe you could give me some hints on how to include the little bugger myself, so that next time I can post a finished and tested result instead of causing you any more work than you already have ;-)

Well better late than never....
I tested the driver with a Windows 2003 Server based BartPE and it didn't work.
Sorry for the late reply, my final kept me busy.

It is based on Windows XP at the moment. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
If you like I can build a Windows 2003 Server based disc to test this as well.

Just finished building the BartPE Disc and ran the first test on the hardware.
The driver works absolutely flawless. Thanks again for your great work and the fast response.
I really appreciate it. You guys rock!

Hi Der-Matze
Welcome to Driverpacks.net and thanks for being here.

It's awesome to see a first post from a user with such good details.
HWID, description of the device, method used, pack version, trouble shooting you did,
[REQ] in the title, posted in the correct forum, and a link to the driver.
I almost fell out of my chair! Woot!

I also agree - you have found a driver that is not included in the packs.

Thanks for taking the time to make your request and doing it so well.
I hope you continue to contribute here.

have a great day and keep your eyes peeled for a test pack to show up soon.
PS be sure you click on the subscribe button (subscriptions on this forum are sadly not automatic).
you have already included your relevant HWID no further info is required (unless its the wrong HWID wink )

Thanks for the great welcome. I feel very honoured.
I am currently building the new BartPE Disc and will inform you as soon as possible if the new Driverpack works.
Thanks everybody for taking care of this. You guys do a tremendous job. Hats off.

Greetings
This Controller is not being recognized by my BartPE Disk.
The Model is Promise FastTrak TX4310.
The HWID is: VEN_105A&DEV_3515&SUBSYS_3515105A&REV_02
Driverpack used: DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7121
Link to Driver: http://www.promise.com/support/download … &go=GO
I scanned the MassStorage.inf generated by the BartPE Driverpacks Plugin for the HWID, but couldn't find it.
I haven't had time yet to implement the Save_HWID Plugin into my BartPE Disk.
I will do that later today and post the full information once I got the plugin up and running.
Thanks for the great work guys.

Sorry for the late reply!
Learning is keeping me quite busy these days.
But anyways I have finally found some time to test DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_7094 on systems with both boards, since DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_7092 was already deleted / overwritten on the server. It works like a charm. :-)
The drivers for the NIC and the Network Bus Enumerator are both correctly installed during minisetup.
Thank you very much yet again for your fast and professional help!

That sounds awesome! I'll be ready for extensive testing.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting. I did not have access to the specific machine in the last couple of days.
But here it goes:

Thanks for looking onto it. I really appreciate it.

I'm having problems with the LAN Adapter on a Gigabyte GA-M61PM-S2 (rev 2.0) not being detected correctly.
I'm using sysprep, following the instructions found here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1682
The Driverpack i am using is DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_709.
At first boot an unknown device is found, which turns out to be the NVidia Network Bus enumerator.
So far everything else seems to be working fine, it's just that damn onboard LAN that is giving me headaches.

Thanks for all your efforts! Without the driver packs my life would be far more complicated. :-)
