Seems to work ok now!! So thats what it was... corrupt archives. lol

downloaded the two graphics archives and both are extracting ok now with no errors, I'm just testing another disc now.

Ok, I might have figured the problem out...

Tried to extract Graphics A and B, both keep coming up with CRC failures on dozens of files in the pack.

I've redownloaded over and over again but still getting CRC failures.
So looks to me like corrupt drivers!

ok, they're...

Nope machines arn't identical...

here are the names of two of the affected video controllers...

Intel 82865G
Intel 82845G

Ok, now my thoughts are the drivers are just incompatible with the hardware i'm installing on...

I compiled my XP pro disc on an XP machine and still get the problem.

[UserData]
ProductKey="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"

[Data]
UnattendedInstall=Yes
    MsDosInitiated=No

[Components]
Fax=On

[GUIRunOnce]
    command9="%SystemDrive%\DPsFnshr.exe"

Ok I ran the two files.

Restarted, checked Device mgr... still listed as disabled.

come to think of it I don't recall seeing it run on first boot.

I havn't changed or replaced the winnt file after running DPsBase...

The D folder is present on the root drive along with...

ATICCP
devcon
DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32
DPsFnshr
DPsfnshr
DSPdsblr
makePNF
pmtimer

Ok, I'm at the machine I ran installed my disc on... there is no DPsFnshr.log in the Windows folder...

@ muiz3
I actually have very good knowledge of computers.
I never said I was using XP drivers for Vista...

My machine is installed with Vista....

I modify my XP source ON VISTA...

@jtdoom
The version of vista I'm using is Ultimate.
Thanks for the heads up on where the log file is... I was thinking it was on the machine I compiled the disc on... oops tongue

I'm not at the computers with the logs until monday, so will post them then.

Has anyone slipstreamed the driverpacks into their XP sources on a Vista installed machine?

I'm gonna try this on an XP installed machine and see if maybe theres a compatibility issue with DPs_base.exe and Vista

Sorry the log isn't there?

Might I add... I am running the driverpacks base exectuable on a vista machine.

where would i find this?

Ok, just tested with a disc that hasn't had any other third party applications applied to it.

The Video controller still comes up disabled, Re-enable it says Please re-install driver, click re-install... and comes up could not install hardware "not intended for this platform"...

I have been thinking that this may be the cause, I use HFSLIP AND nLite.

I'll test my discs minus both to see if they are the cause...

Source OS is Windows XP Pro.

I selected Graphics A and B to be slipstreamed...

All Dell machines, can't comment on the specific graphic hardware. They are all intergrated GPU's.

Majority of dell machines come with intel GPU's.

If needed I can compile a list of the hardware affected but I should add that this happens on EVERY machine I use the disc on, no matter what the spec.

big_smile thanks

no matter what machine i install my disc on the video controller is initially disabled.

When i re-enable it windows asks for drivers for the hardware.

I have enabled KTD. But it always comes back "Driver not intended for this platform"

As i said, no matter what machine install on this always happens... where am I going wrong?
