I have a logitech webcam and i got no problems with it.  It's mounted on top of my lcd monitor though a clip.  If you are getting a new one, i suggest that you get the one with led light and sensor. It automatically adjusts and flashes the led if it thinks the room is too dark. Most webcams already have a built-in microphone so that would be no issue.

i think some of the hardware present in the gx270 is not compatible with windows 7.  For instance, the on-board graphics card, which is relatively old bordering obsolete already, is incapable of the high resolutions common to windows 7.  You should try driverpacks as it will provide you with the solutions. Should you fail to get the hardware going, you are better of getting a new machine compared to upgrading some components.

If you are asking for an unbiased thought, i would go for inmotion hosting. I think it is one of the top providers, if not the top.  It has unlimited space, unlimited traffic and priced at a relatively fair price of $6.  On top of that, they have the top rated technical support by an independent monitoring team.  I use this hosting service so i would be able to suggest it with confidence.

I would suggest you get a new antivirus because you are failing at that, big time. That's the problem with some antiv's, they are so "secure" to the point that they are marking files that are not really harmful. That's what happened to me with Kaspersky. Got rid of it and transferred to Norton. I am not advertising this, it worked for me maybe it wouldn't for you. The point being, get rid of it and get a new one.
