Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I used yumeyao's addon plus a couple of vc++ unattended installers. That seemed to take care of the problem. So I went back to try and figure out if it was user_hidden's .net framework or if it was the vc++ runtimes that fixed it. I updated my graphics driverpacks and now CCC isn't even installing. It's a legacy card. I wonder if I just had a corrupted driverpack?

This just happened to me again on a different computer that was on a better connection that doesn't drop out. The sound b that was downloaded by driverpacks base was too small.

It was the problem, you can close this thread now thanks smile

I may have found the problem. I just discovered that my sound B pack was half the size it should be. It would be nice if there was some kind of automatic CRC verification or something of downloaded archives considering their size. I often have to re-download the archives a lot because my connection drops out sometimes.

if I am reading that correctly there is no portcls.sys for the ac97 driver? Does that mean it tried to use the wrong driver?

The setup bluescreened right in the middle and then resumed. I'm not seeing any evidence of that in the setupapi.log. I don't see anything mentioning portcls.sys either. Should I post the whole log?

I also just realized I'm using user_hidden's .net framework addon as well. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

He claims it's no different than an official install and that he develops .net applications. I did have one computer that I had to install the official .net framework on because his was causing a website to crash.

CCC has been crashing on every computer with an ATI card that I have installed the new graphics pack A on.

Source install is xp sp3 corporate with user_hidden's xp sp3 hotfixes pack integrated.

Ever since I've started using the recent driverpack sound updates on my unattended CD I've been getting some bluescreens during the windows xp setup. When it goes to install the drivers it bluescreens and mentions portcls.sys and that's about it. Re-starting the setup seems to work but then I have to uninstall the sound driver and download the official one.

The computer it's bluescreening on right now is a dell GX270 that has integrated realtek AC97 audio.
