BTW, I added code tags to your post.

v8.9.0.1023 is only loaded in textmode because it's stable.
v9.6.0.1014 is usually loaded for the desktop because it supports more hardware and more people requested it.  But it's very unstable in textmode.
The newer RST v10.* series drivers are VERY stable in testing but they're only beta (though WHQL signed).  Hopefully Intel will make the v10 RST drivers final soon. smile

PS: I said "Bad request. The link you followed is incorrect or outdated."

Link is fine.  It goes to the protected "Team" forums.  You cannot view the link because you are not a team member.

Not to complain but it would be nice to have a naming convention for the Beta users that has the full date in it i.e.

Arrgg.  It's a stupid "Make Floppy" utility.  I hate those!  (And it's corrupted also)
So have you tried these drivers and they work on your system?

For HWIDs, use the tool linked in my signature.  It outputs to a text file.  Just copy/paste it here.

Strange.  I've confirmed that the file exists on the CDN by FTP, but I also get a 404 error.
I sent a message to Wim.  Hopefully he can fix it.

@MAPhillips,
Can you try this test pack please?

I used the updated drivers for the Optiplex 780.  The HWIDs are identical to yours.

OK, I compared the two and both are virtually identical.  The only difference being the one in DriverPack Sound B is newer and supports more HWIDs.  That's it.
This new version was added for the 10.06 release.

-S\ Added ADI/SoundMax for Dell 780 DriverVer = 01/08/2010, 5.10.01.7270 (requested here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4469)

There's a newer version on the Dell site.  I'll add that one.

Your HWID is a 100% match for DP_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32_*\D\S\S\ADIHdAud.inf
So you're saying that it does NOT work?  You get no sound?
Can you post a link to a driver that DOES work?

thank you could you point me in the proper direction for the drivers..

How about the "Download" link on the main page?
Before that though, read the tutorial.  This is a DriverPacks support forum.  We answer questions related to problems with the DriverPacks or DriverPacks BASE.
IF you used the DriverPacks, please post your DPs_BASE.log and your HWID list.

Oh, and welcome to DriverPacks! wink

Just copy/paste the info into a new post.  The DPsFnshr.log has too much info to paste into a single post.  You'll have to split it up into two or three posts.
At the very minimum we need the DPs_BASE.log and your HWID list (utility linked in my sig).

OK, I'll rebuild the .inf...again.

Please read the "read before you post" and upload the requested files.  Your post tells us nothing.
Welcome to DriverPacks.

Great post.  Has almost everything I need.
Which DriverPack Graphics C did you use?

Nvidia is a pain to add.
Can you post a link to the driver download site and the HWIDs of your system please?

I'm assuming that the 1009 final fixed this.
If not, here's a test pack to try: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3fa43340z … _101006.7z

Guess I'll have to wait for a new nightly and see what happens?  Speaking of... how do I obtain said nightlies?

Stand by.  I'm uploading a new nightly for you to test now...
Try this one please: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3fa43340z … _101006.7z

I know this is a stupid question, but I have to ask.
Was your wifi switched 'on' during install? wink
I have a newer version in a testing build.  Please stand by...

I'm rather curious still: what did we accomplish really?

Well, now we know how to fix the nvidia problem with a registry hive modification.
This can be as simple as a batch file called by DriverPacks BASE during textmode integration (or directly coded) in a newer version of DriverPacks BASE.
But you're right.  Can the newer files work on older hardware?  That would be a good test.
@urbanriot, now that the hive has the correct fix, can you try the test packs again but in reverse order?  Highest number packs first (low#=old drivers, high#=new drivers) and post your results?  It would be very time consuming on your part but would provide VERY valuable feedback to us.
